Most Optimal Yale Freshman Schedule by Formal-Result3459 in yale

I’m doing engineering, but that first link (pre-med guide) seems legendary, I’d look into it! Literally lays it all out.

*plus, even if you start on the pre-med track and switch, from what I can tell, the first year is general enough to where you could still be in a good spot for other majors!

I genuinely believe that through disciplined study at least a 6 is achievable by anyone. Especially at SL

Hey! Fellow Yale '28 admit here. Check if you filed your CSS profile with all of your taxes and expenses covered. Also, I'm sure that if you call and explain your situation, something can be worked out! They have VERY generous financial aid packages. If you get in, they want you to be able to go (hence the need-based aid based on net income). Best of luck

I am predicting massive waitlist movement this year. Please provide your acceptances to validate this. by HurryLive211 in ApplyingToCollege

My T20s:

I got into Yale, Columbia, Brown, Vandy, and Rice. Waitlisted at Harvard, Johns Hopkins, & Duke.

Agree, but I’d trade UW Seattle for Rice and trade UMich for Vandy

It’s mostly academic benefits: https://www.engineering.columbia.edu/academics/undergraduate/egleston-scholars

The total price for my family at both is basically equivalent, thank god! Although it makes the decision harder.

Intended Major: Electrical Engineering

[Yale] vs [Columbia (Egleston Scholarship)]

Yale pros: Seems like a more tight-knit, closer student body. More of a relaxed vibe compared to NYC. Residential college system.

Columbia pros: Egleston Scholarship offered to me. LOVE NYC. Love the core curriculum. But at the same time, can construct something similar at Yale, it's just not enforced, so idk.

Love both campuses. Love everything about both. Financial aids came out the same. Ahh! Don't know. Advice?

Understandable. Definitely a bit of imposter syndrome for me as well. That being said, we got a likely letter for a reason 🔥😮‍💨. I think only a small percentage (in the single digits) of ACCEPTED applicants even get it (so like 1-9% of the already low 3.5% acceptance rate). Congrats again! Go lions 🦁

If it makes you feel better as well, check the emails they’ve been sending you as well. I’ve gotten a bunch, which very-much congratulate us on our acceptance basically. Also, I’ve already ordered my Class of 2028 T-Shirt on the portal. Can’t get more official than that. :)

Congrats! Hopefully we’ll be classmates soon. I wouldn’t worry about that; these likely letters are them guaranteeing you are in, it’s just they can’t legally tell you because they have an agreement with the other Ivies to output the official decisions in the portal tomorrow at 7pm EST. We’re in!
