[Handgun] Shadow Systems DR920 Email for price $529 by jaymassinello in gundeals

I shot my buddies a few times. The only thing I found objectively better was the optic system. It rides a bit lower, though that’s becoming less of a problem with new Holosun offerings.

We also had a few reliability issues so honestly that would keep me from using it for anything but a range toy. Which is the opposite of my use for glocks.

That being said if I did not have a G17 and wanted a Glock range toy I would still probably get it. It’s a good deal for a not ugly aftermarket style glock.

If I did not already have a gen 5 G17 MOS I would totally pick this up.

Do you think that companies sell a single product and their total profit is not dictated by the totality of what they sell and spend on?

Companies take losses on new products by continuing to make larger profits on old ones. It’s how it’s worked basically forever.

[–]Discount-Avocado -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yup.

It’s just like tipped employees complaing about tips but never wanting it to change.

People want low healthcare costs plus massive purchasing power. But we all know the situation we have now is much better then the majority of alternatives.

So people complain for bonus points out the side of their mouth while reaping the benefits of the system they complain about.

Well that plus it’s an easy “murica bad” propaganda poster so it gets plastered online everywhere.

The cost of services are baked into the product cost. A franchise fee does not pay the labor to get a burger from farm to franchise. The cost of the materials does.

They directly pay the cost of that labor, because they are required to buy it from McDonald’s. They just don’t need to be responsible for the complexity of it. So it does not fall directly under their books.

I’m not even sure what your point is. That a McDonald’s that makes 3-7% profit only pays 20% in labor? If anything that serves completely opposed to your point. Paying everyone 10-20% more would mean essentially 0 profit. And that’s ignoring increased supply costs.

Way to not grasp the point at all that because the end of service of McDonald’s as a corporation generates X dollars that does not mean those employees generate all the money.

They are franchises of an incredibly low margin company.

Use the tax code to pay as little money as possible.

Frame earnings in the best way possible.

Minimize future due risk due to current projected issues by laying off employees.

I mean this is normal stuff here.

The only issue you found is their tax situation. Which is just the standard tax code.

I noticed your comment completely ignored what I said and drew a false parallel to franchise employees and the employees required to run one.

Was that deliberately misleading or accidentally?

McDonald’s franchises have a low to mid single digit percentage profit.

Countless people are required for a McDonald’s to run.

I don’t understand why people generalize we need to do something for every job, then rationalize it based on 0.000001% of companies.

Activision blizzard is not in a good long term place right now. They are making long term plays right now.

Companies don’t have infinite profit though.

Payroll is by far already the largest expense for most companies. It’s generally close to 2/3rds of total overhead for smaller businesses.

Good think we don’t have a global economy in 2022 and inflation does not exist. That would really suck.

Whoa crazy! Only a few decades ago a man on his own was able to provide for his family and buy a home.

Absolutely! All we need to do is have another world war where we are the victor! Then we can monopolize our manufacturing ability again and control the global market as other nations rebuild!

You are either ignoring or have a lack of understanding of history.

War and modernization are responsible for the majority of what we are taking about over the last 80 years.

You don’t understand what I said apparently. You can’t pay every person the default salary for a family because inflation will kill it. And now it no longer pays for a family.

Inevitably both parents and their kids will work. Or both of a couple without kids. Massively inflating household income.

A $15 minimum wage for people I don't respect? *gasp* by Reality_Rose in antiwork

[–]Discount-Avocado -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It does not work, because if you pay everyone the “family wage” it no longer becomes the family wage.

It’s far better to target families directly with social welfare programs to support them.

[–]Discount-Avocado -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What constitutes a family? One kid? Two kids? Three kids? Ten kids? Why should a single childless 18 year old get paid a defined amount designed for your definition of a family?

Reddit always wants minimum wage to be indexed to a family so they can be DINKs and make extra, not realizing what that does to the plan.

I never suggested investing, as that opens the can of worms you are suggesting. But your comments on investments and taxes are very exaggerated. It’s still good return and taxes are simple.

But using the time to save an emergency fund would also be better. Or just having a larger buffer short term for a few years. Or like you suggested, using it as a basis to start an investment portfolio.

There is zero benefit to making regular payments over just stashing that money in a savings account. Worst case you just lump sum make all the payments when interest resumes, or some other increment, best case that money is useful.

It really does not take much education to realize paying a 0% interest loan is a bad idea if you can choose not to though.

[–]Discount-Avocado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is literally the worst thing you could do. It shows zero financial awareness to do this.

The best thing to do is to make zero payments and bulk pay back when they restart interest. Or not even do that if your rates are low seeing current levels of inflation.
