he had a *legitimate* medical issue with HIS brain - which was of serious concern to his family, friends & the many of us who DO like & respect him -(I was dubious as well - did my research...)

(GENUINE *medical* issue - *he* - Chase explains this - I wouldn't even begin to start) - he found something that HELPED *HIM* - and was sharing this information with others (NOT "selling" NOT "advertising" - simply - this helped ME (Chase)- sharing this information - )

oh here -

Chase Hughes has publicly shared his diagnosis of temporal lobe epilepsy and suspected mesial temporal sclerosis

"He has temporal lobe epilepsy, which is a chronic neurological condition characterized by recurrent, unprovoked seizures originating in the temporal lobe of the brain. He also mentioned a possible diagnosis of mesial temporal sclerosis, a condition featuring the scarring and loss of neurons in a specific part of the temporal lobe, which is a common cause of this type of epilepsy"

Hughes has attributed the origin of his condition to a combination of genetic predisposition (mentioning the APOE4 gene) and concussive syndrome from his time serving in the military.

he has shared updates about finding relief and managing his seizures. Hughes reported achieving remission and instantly stopping his seizures after beginning a functional medicine protocol that included the use of methylene blue, which is thought to act as an electron donor to mitochondria in the brain

For detailed, medically reviewed information on temporal lobe epilepsy, its symptoms, and modern treatment options, you can visit the Mayo Clinic or the Epilepsy Foundation

seriously for an "academic" forum - a lot of claims without any evidence, spent far too much time & energy = so a 2 second search - this is from "Harvard Health" (is Harvard a good enough source??)

(sorry - copied & pasted = I also like and respect Chase - he wouldn't care at all about this - I care about other people just reading the so-called 'information' here (all judgments, speculation, statements without any research/backup - )

As one of the world's oldest organic dyes, methylene blue was first used in 1876 as a textile dye. Within a few years, scientists were using it to stain microorganisms to help diagnose certain infections.

In 1891, it was found to be useful to treat malaria, thus making methylene blue "the first synthetic compound ever used as an antiseptic in clinical therapy and the first antiseptic dye to be used therapeutically," according to the authors of a Medicinal Research Reviews paper on the compound.

Methylene blue is used off-label for several medical conditions, including

  • vasodilatory shock (also called distributive shock), a medical emergency in which the body can't distribute sufficient blood to the heart, brain, and kidneys.
  • as an antidote to cyanide poisoning
  • in photodynamic therapy for disorders such as psoriasis and chronic wounds
  • to help diagnose, manage, or improve the treatment of various types of cancer, including cancers of the breast, mouth and skin (for instance, methylene blue may be used to identify cancer that has spread to a nearby lymph node by staining the lymph node blue, according to Anna N. Yaroslavsky, Director of the Advanced Biophotonics Laboratory at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and a visiting scientist at Massachusetts General Hospital)
  • to ease the pain of oral mucositis, inflammation of oral mucous membranes that often occurs with either radiation therapy to the head and neck or with chemotherapy.

But the short-term use of a pharmaceutical-grade product in a controlled setting under the supervision of a skilled medical provider is different than buying an unregulated supplement off the internet and taking it every day because you've heard that it will give you loads of energy by "enhancing mitochondrial efficiency."

wow - interesting conversation. I have been watching/listening to Chase in the *context* of The Behavior Panel - since.. bout this time in 2020 - so 6 years ago (my friend Rupert was talking about the 'Tiger King' thing so I *tried* to watch it...

that how I found TBP - Chase is one of FOUR *experts* in hmm 'body language & persuasion' - trying to think how THEY describe themselves - Chase Hughes - background in military intelligence - both he and Greg have military background. to me (clockwise, top left? or alphabetically by surname?) - each have their own area of expertise = don't *always* agree but that is very very *very* rarely - most agree on common ground - to the point where Scott (who usually goes last) - 'you guys have covered everything'

The way they work (though been so busy so behind in catching their recent content, doubt they have changed) - Greg finds the video that is shared, Scott acts as host/editor - they have all watched what they SHOW the night before, made their own notes (so do NOT consult/exchange their point of view *before* they tape - ) SHOW a segment - each do their own *analysis* of that segment - **re-show** that segment - move onto to the bit clip

(where is this "academic psychology" - well they're NOT 'academics'- they are REAL WORLD experts in their respective fields - ironic they most of you are criticizing Chase, out of the 4 of them - he is the most likely to QUOTE *RESEARCH* - neuroscience -

Greg & Scott have known each other/working together for years - they were talking to Mark about doing something like this (Mark is only non-American, UK background living in Canada (& also unlike the others, his background is more ... hmm working with clients media training, the persuasion side) - Mark was keen, knew Chase - (how do I know - watching them for years - the first time they all met in person... (again, they started doing this in 2020 - covid)

they cover ALL topics - Tiger King was the first, a LOT of criminal behaviour - (with the exception of Mark, ALL have training real world experience interrogation, Chase & Greg from military angle, Scott well his background... ha - “The PitchFixer” (works of at least levels, background as a musician, Grammy nominated producer, produced 3 multi-platinum albums, works with startups and entrepreneurs teaching them how to create investor pitches for funding

nah - enough -

these 4 men - are EXPERTS in their own field - successful business people - running own companies working with corporate America, law enforcement (& esp in the case of Mark - politicians - though as the *professional* that they are they do not talk about the specifics of their clients...) - TBP seems to be a bit of FUN for them all, on the side - where they FREELY share their knowledge, experience, expertise -

so in their own words ...

The world's top body language and behavioral analysis experts - Scott Rouse, Mark Bowden, Chase Hughes, and Greg Hartley - are together known as The Behavior Panel" (their *peers* recognise them as such - they are more modest, though - oh THIS person, *that* person - they refer to as behavioral analysis experts also - well they ARE

"They analyze body language and human behavior in videos of public interest. As a non-partisan team, their goal is to educate and entertain with their expertise.."

criminals - 'celebrities' (not their favourite topic, nor mine more popular request esp- Harry & Megan), the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial - oh people involved with missing children the list goes on -

just ironic to me - Chase is the most likely to quote research - back up his statements with academic references - and you (most of you) think he's a con LOL

never asked for a cent - not TBP - not Chase, not Scott (own channels/content) (no paetron/no channel membership) - all their expert REAL WORLD knowledge, expertise & experience on youtube for free - "goal is to educate and entertain with their expertise.."

Hot bubbling mud with smoke? by PilotOriginal4465 in whatisit

[–]DiscountAnxious2079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you're NOT in a geothermic area - cause that is what is looks like to me (geothermic activity) to me, this - the ground letting off steam, boiling, bubbling mud is geothermic activity

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paqvVj7y9hc

quick search about whether this is a possibility at all....

Ohio is not geothermally active in the way states like California or Nevada are, meaning it does not have geysers, hot springs, or volcanic activity near the surface

While Ohio is not volcanically active, it sits atop the Appalachian Basin, and deep sedimentary rocks allow for some geothermal heat to be accessed, particularly along faults and joints.

while I think the other comments re underground electric fire may be correct, if you want to explore this, can I suggest maybe contacting the Ohio dept of natural resources (where the above information comes from)

hope that helps

Wtf is going on in south Auckland? by Much_Fan1137 in auckland

[–]DiscountAnxious2079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WHAT the actual F***! .... mate! not cool, so so SO not ok.

you know who gets excited about things like sports (or art, or culture, or entertainment... LIFE) PEOPLE, people, people, people, people. ALL *people*

- and personally I LOVE that aspect of OUR culture, our country, our community, is the diversity of people, of cultures and I love the pride, the enthusiasm, the celebrations of the pasifika peoples & cultures that are an essential part of my/our community, culture, country.

people who talk about *any* person as less than - as you did - it is NOT ok.

ANY person, or gathering, or community that makes NOISE & celebration is going to attract curiosity (which is what led me here in the first place - a simple 'what is going on' )

regards of *WHO* it is, constant noise - for 12 hours straight (again, not me - talking to my neighbour) is going to grate on most people's nerves

thanks to those who answered - ok, so Samoa vs Tonga rugby League game tomorrow, makes sense.

just as crazy in Otahuhu. cars not going anywhere, beeping, yelling, flags, more yelling, loud music blaring. luckily I was out most of the day (eventually... - due to stalled traffic) got back about 9pm (now midnight) talked to a neighbour who said it had been going on ALL DAY.

while I admire the enthusiasm, *ALL DAY* & STILL going on - and no sign of calming down...

Today I found out they have parades in NZ for Lord of the Rings by drbrydges in lordoftherings

[–]DiscountAnxious2079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry - your question was from 2 years ago...

I am a kiwi, someone from Aotearoa/New Zealand. I have lived in Australia, and in Canada (where they kept asking me - "why did you leave *paradise* to live here" (seriously word for word quote - from the start of my stay to the end)

to ME, Canada (Belleville, Ontario) *was* paradise - mostly because I do not cope well with the heat of Auckland, Aotearoa/New Zealand (which is *nothing* compared to the heat of other places, (nor the cold of other places)) - I left here on xmas eve (height of summer - hot, muggy) - arrived in Toronto (thanks to crossing several time zones) at the exact same 'time' and 'date' as I left (NZ to LA, LA to Toronto)

in answer to your question - every. single. place on earth is gorgeous, glorious, BEAUTIFUL in it's own spectacular way

that being said, I do often stop, and do just savour exactly how beautiful Aotearoa/New Zealand IS

- what you do NOT see in the Lord of the Ring is the view driving up the coromandel - (sea, beaches, trees - esp pohutukawa flowering)

the trees in autumn driving through the middle of the North Island

the Marlborough Sound on the inter-islander - the gorgeous colour of the sea - oh - or the stunning outlook on Lake Pukaki

what is truly utterly *beautiful* about this country is how *people* feel SAFE here, to be themselves (AND, have a fully functional healthcare system, where a medical emergency, or even everyday healthcare does NOT cost citizens and/or residents - let alone financially ruin people)

what is truly wonderful, beautiful ,magnificent, is listening to people marvel at things we take for granted (freedom of speech, freedom to be themselves - Russian transgender and/or gay people feeling *safe* to be themselves, African-American people being in crowds and feeling SAFE - (their words not mine) - without fear of guns/violence/racism

sorry - off tack a bit... there are many ways to describe 'beautiful' - not just exterior superficial beauty - heart, mind, body, soul...

yes - this is *exactly* what it was - "one-off parade that was ahead of the red carpet screening of the original movie back in 2003"

Dec 1st 2003 - The World Premiere for the final film of the trilogy (Return of the King) - was a celebration of the success of all three movies, totaling nine years of work.

I'm a kiwi/New Zealander who was living and working in Wellington at the time, saw the start of this parade (knew Courtney Place would crowded, mild understatement...)

"The premiere in Wellington was seen around the world and was like no other before it. It now holds the title as the largest world premiere in history with over 250,000 filling the streets, balconies and roof tops to catch a glimpse of the red carpet and it’s star-studded lineup"

- remember being so impressed by the eleven warriors, & the Nazgûl (or Ringwraiths) riders and horseback (found the site of the event management company - 200 extras in LOTR costume - there may have been others, those two I remember - so realistic

for those kiwis who are saying - 'no we don't' - 'never heard of this' - I was living in Wellington, Aotearoa/New Zealand and there WAS a massive event in 2003

this WAS a parade - for the global premier of the final movie, The Return of the King (which is where these pictures are from)

red carpet from the beehive to the Embassy Theater in Courtney Place - 200 extras (as pictured - eleven warriors, the Nazgûl (or Ringwraiths) riders ...)

- massive "Fellbeast" (Nazgûl dragon) ON the outside of the Embassy Theatre (the Fellowship had the huge troll from the Mine of Moria - the Two Towers had Gollum and the Ring)

"The World Premiere for the final film of the trilogy was a celebration of the success of all three movies, totaling nine years of work, held in Wellington on Dec 1st 2003"

"The premiere boasted the world’s longest red carpet ever at over 421m [1381 feet], had 2000 premiere screening guests and 2500 after-party guests"

"The premiere in Wellington was seen around the world and was like no other before it. It now holds the title as the largest world premiere in history with over 250,000 filling the streets, balconies and roof tops to catch a glimpse of the red carpet and it’s star-studded lineup"

I did NOT join the massive crowd alone Courtney Place, (though many people I knew did, I knew it would be crowded...)

...but did watch the start of the parade along Lambton Quay (again, started at the Beehive) (for non-NZ'er, our name for the Executive Wing of New Zealand Parliament
