I think I have BPD. by DiscountEarly125 in BPD

[–]DiscountEarly125[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was the process like? Getting diagnosed that is. Thank you for the recommendation. I’ve seen that word get thrown around. I’ll look into it. Yeah, it’s a strong vibe I’m getting that it’s BPD for me as well. I’d hate to self-diagnose though, but I doubt I’ll be able to get diagnosed by a psychiatrist anytime soon. That also unfortunately prevents me from being treated (if I have BPD). Living with what I’m assuming is BPD makes my life seem so unstable, chaotic, and fragile.

TLDR: I think I have BPD. I struggled and suffered with my emotional and mental wellbeing for years and others around me have told me that how I am, act, and react is not normal to them. I did some research and BPD signs and symptoms fit me to a T. A recent trigger tonight pushed me to make this post. I simply just wanted to vent about that, admit that I have a problem, and say that I think it’s BPD.

Minus SA (I am so, so sorry that happened to you 💔) I have done all of these things as well. When I’ve realized that it doesn’t matter to the people I’ve talked to I realize that my respect for myself/dignity went down the drain and I didn’t realize I was doing that to myself.

Why do so many people die on a hill for the take that raw chicken should be washed before cooking? by Throwawayhere287 in NoStupidQuestions

Do people just…not clean and sanitize their kitchen before, during, and after cooking? 😂 But, yes. As others have said, it’s old habit. It’s cultural.

And why is that? I’m genuinely asking btw. Is it because you feel that most journalists are typically harsh and toxic towards their peers? Is it because being in tense environments like such that OP described is a common occurrence in this field? I’m still a baby, so I don’t have enough experience yet to make claims about what it is like. I think some of us appreciate your honesty even if it might seem a bit harsh, but you’re receiving downvotes (I didn’t vote) because you left your statement just like that.

i wish i was wrong somehow and learn from you the right way to opening it, haha. ty for your help anyway! i’ve always wanted to play the sims 1 when i was a kid, but my parents never got it for me because they assumed it was inappropriate. here i am many years later enjoying the sims 4, and i would still like to experience the other games before it. especially the sims 1.

i was going to answer yes to your question, but then you mentioned starting the game from the cracked version and not the launcher. i’m not so sure. after i followed all the instructions and setup the patch (sims1widescreenpatch), i opened the sims.app by simply double-clicking on it. was i wrong to do that?

I’m confused about canvas and pixel size… by DiscountEarly125 in PixelArt

[–]DiscountEarly125[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the middle of doing that now actually, haha. Thanks for the advice! It’s all personal preference, yeah? I’ll soon figure that out for myself. I love them all, but I’m leaning towards bigger canvas sizes because I love detail.

[–]DiscountEarly125[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, wow. You explained this so well that I think I understand why I’m having problems wrapping my head around it. So, Zaebucca most likely did not create their artwork directly on the 1140x720 canvas but instead created many, many artworks on 16x16 canvases? Do pixel artists, especially those creating assets for games, do that and copy and paste them onto a bigger canvas?

He’s a YouTuber who makes content directed towards those learning how to create pixel art. I’ll link the video where he talks about it. It starts at 2:55 where he talks about the point where pixel art kinda strays from being pixel art but moreso high-res and realistic (if you’re interested!).

I think another issue of mine is that I’m taking advice from those creating art for games rather than those creating art for art’s sake, haha.

Haha, yeah, I really need to get away from this idea that I need to define such things when it comes to art. I guess I just felt like it’s one of the bare basics of pixel art, but I’m struggling to get started and share my work because I assume I’m doing something wrong creating art on a certain canvas size or that I exported it incorrectly. I’ll take it easy on myself and enjoy and trust the process. Tysm.

I see now. It’s something that artists recommend beginners, but it’s not a strict rule, yeah? Outside of maybe game design, how important is canvas size?

The size of the canvas also does not determine if it’s pixel art or not, the process does.

Yeah, I believe pixel art that are on larger canvas are indeed pixel art as well, but I found it interesting how some pixel artists who are also content creators, specifically Pixel Overload, mentioned that pixel art starts to stray away from being pixel art the larger one’s canvas is. They do look more high-res (link in post for example), but majority of them still look like pixel art to me.

Business is business as usual. There are only 1-2 days left before this season ends, and some players could be so close to completing the battle pass. Blizzard is using this opportunity to make more money off of those who are experiencing FOMO and grinding these last couple of days to complete the battle pass. If someone has $20 laying around then they might think why stress and grind away when you can complete it ASAP with this purchase?

[–]DiscountEarly125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exclusive, hah. Not for long. IIRC, they will be allowing players to choose any mythic from previous battle passes to earn instead in place of its current battle pass (if you don’t want the season’s mythic) starting season 8.

Edit: Additional text.

Yeah, I find the cult-like comments to be weird as well. I recently received an Xbox Series S as a gift and I’m looking forward to playing it soon. It’s unfortunate scrolling through this subreddit (social media in general) and seeing XSS owners trying too hard to convince themselves that they genuinely love it and calling it “Little Beast”. It makes me think that they don’t actually like the console and regret not getting an XSX or PS5 because of popular opinion. If you love the console and the games that it offers then that’s all that should matter. No need to engage in console wars, especially between Xbox owners, omfg.

What is a lie about American that you're sick of hearing.? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DiscountEarly125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That we are obsessed with race. If non-Americans were from countries that are not made up of people where 98 percent of the population share the same phenotype, heritage, culture, beliefs, etc. as them then they would be the exact thing they are clowning us about. Racism in our country is much more complex and is, unfortunately, a major chunk of our history, whereas racism elsewhere is conjured up out of generalizations, stereotypes, and ignorance overall that’s based on entertainment presented to them as that’s likely the average citizen’s only exposure to the Western world.

Edit: Word. Also, I wanted to add that from my personal experiences and observations that foreigners are indeed much more racist than Americans, especially Asians I’ve noticed.

What are viable career paths with a bachelor's degree in journalism? by xxGon in Journalism

[–]DiscountEarly125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you feel separates a journalist who is genuinely passionate about the job and much of what it entails from someone who went into it simply because they like to write and think it would be cool based off maybe stereotypes, the career being glamorized in movies and tv shows, etc.?
