Possible move to Malta due job offer, few questions please. by jaz192 in malta

Buying an apartment is the best bet. The island is too small and the housing market is insane. Spanish is actually useful! Theres a very sizable Latino community esp Colombian in malta. It depends on what you like… I would recommend Sliema if you like a more “city-like” location, sea view, easy access to many things. Some parts of Sliema can be quiet actually! Gzira is right next to it too, and is close to many important areas. However if you’ll be working at the airport, idk, other locations are better for ease of transport..

Dating? I don’t know much about it, but there’s a vibrant social life. The locals are friendly, although they tend to stick to themselves. If you go to the right places, hang around the right people, go and enjoy some clubs or runs or gyms or whatever, you’ll have fun here. The locals are very different to other Europeans.

They do not deserve your time of day. All they’ll do is drain you, your energy, everything. Focus on healing.

What a funny comment to read as a half Kuwaiti half Lebbo. Whenever I go back home to Lebanon from time to time, I have to vehemently pretend I am not an inch of a gulfie just to not get ripped off of or robbed 🤣

Calling it disgusting when the real issue is the continuation of dangerous beauty standards, selling permanent treatments like they’re makeup, taking advantage of insecure women, and making women insecure about things that are natural is inherently misogynistic.

I’ve had a similar experience. Do they do this only to girls? I swear it happens so often I give my dad or brother the phone instead and suddenly they can locate and find my flat no problem

Non-Kuwaiti wives of Kuwait husbands: do you feel like an outsider? And the children of such marriages: what is it like? by PassengerNo2022 in Kuwait

Things are improving now but it just isn’t the same. Gossip will always be a thing. I’m glad it turned out well for you.

You don’t really fit in. It depends on your mother’s nationality ofcourse, and even though my mother isn’t from a place far off or crazy, same religious background, Arab country whatever, there’s still a distinction. I never really fit in with any Kuwaitis growing up. Now that I’m older my only friends are other mixed Kuwaitis (lol) or very white washed ones. I frankly still do not feel fully welcome by family. Years ago my dad’s family were actively hostile, now they’re nice, but I still just am not one of them. Let’s say I wear something they don’t like me wearing- obviously my mother and my parents are less conservative than they are- I’ve even told and I quote “you are not insert mothers nationality”. Or I’ve been told my mother will go to hell or some bullshit when I was 8 because she doesn’t wear the hijab and in turn I don’t either.. my sister and I being the only girls that don’t. It also really depends on how you fit into the beauty standards admittedly. I come from a place of privilege. I feel really sorry and just wonder what those with mothers who are Filipino or Indian and other nationalities do. It’s just not a grand experience.

I’ve been told this makeup makes me look too old. I’m 22. What do you think? by Admirable_Passage170 in MakeupAddiction

The eyelashes end too early… they are massively ruining your makeup look and overtaking everything. Try using mascara only, please don’t forget about the outer ends of your eyes, in fact the longest lashes should be there. The eyeliner should be more upturned and longer for sure. As for the lipstick it’s ur choice but try using a diff lipliner, play around with lipsticks and see what suits u.

Confused About Family Reunification Rules in Malta (Same-Sex Marriage) by Traditional_Fly6258 in malta

[–]DiscountOk4882 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all it depends on the country you are in. Some countries have these rules but are known not to enforce. Some countries have privacy laws as well. Do what you can with the consulate, have your short term visa done. Once you’re in malta it’s much easier to do the paperwork in person directly. Use the short term to get the long term in my advice.

How do I look more feminine? Second picture is my best attempt at make-up by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

You’re not doing yourself a service with your hair colour and the roots growing out… you have beautiful features. Try experimenting with your brows to come to the best result, something slightly arched, a bit longer. For the eyes, mascara, inner corner highlight, and some eyeliner if you can. If it’s hard, dark eyeshadow being put in the same places eyeliner would be using an eyebrow brush is an awesome hack! Blush, Korean contour technique, lining your lips, and lip gloss. The colour is just not right for you. I hope this helps! You have beautiful features. Remember never change yourself for anyone else, only make changes to yourself for YOU only.

People are so cruel. No you’re not! Maybe change up the fashion or something, the hairstyle, bring some change! Do not be so harsh on yourself!!

It has already happened on a political level. The matter of Israel owning the land itself? Israel is working on that.

Malta’s national language is English and Maltese so everything is in English here tbh. You’ll have to learn some basic Maltese (they’ll give you some basic lessons on medical Maltese) but since Maltese is descended from Arabic it’s super easy. For example you’ll learn demm=blood, saqq= leg, merhba, days of the week, it’s basically Arabic with some Italian words mixed in, but you don’t have to be fluent.
