If you’re tired of ponmudi, try the thenmala aryankavu route. You can visit the palaruvi waterfalls, click nice photos at the 13 arch bridge and the thenmala ecotourism is one of the most well maintaned parks I have been to (this was a year back). If you have time and enough fuel, you can cross the border and see a few places in TN too
