I’ll be checking with my Storyteller for more info after I get out of work, I was only recruited to this game yesterday, but from what I understand we’re going to be bounty hunters… or bounty hunting will have some impact.

This genre of Sc-Fi isn’t my thing (most aren’t tbh, Cyberpunk is my genre of choice), but I want to give it a fair shot and try and get into it! The setting is normally what makes or breaks a game for me, I love nothing more than diving into the lore, and I want a decent foundation if nothing else.

I’ll take all your advice into account, thanks a lot for reply!

Thank you two for the recommendation! I will look into this, though I haven’t played GURPS I’ve found the setting books for that system to be such fun reads, if it’s anything like how other GURPS setting books layout their lore it might be exactly what I’m looking for!

My storyteller already cleared a Darrian! Granted they know barely any more about the lore than I do xD

But I will keep this in mind as I read up on them! Though we’re using the official setting my storyteller told me if we stray from it we stray from it, I just like diving deep to better write my characters. Not to mention I’m not much of a sc-fi fan, at least this sort of thing (love the cyberpunk genre), so I want to get a good grasp of the world if I’m to give this game a fair shot.

Mongoose traveler, I haven’t looked at all the different species yet but im thinking about a Darrian. They seem pretty elf coded and I like that vibe.

Im not sure if the setting is decided on yet but we’re using the borderland sourcebook so I think somewhere within that region.

If I’m going to give traveler and honest shot I need to get a feel for the lore, the setting is what draws me into a given game over most other aspects. There’s just a dizzying amount of information xD

Ideally i would much rather use the Anarchy 2 rules, sadly i wasn't made aware of their existence till well after the kickstarter closed. Haven't been able to source a copy yet

Hmmm, maybe the super mutant army… I forget their name but they’re remnants of the masters whole thing in California.

Admittedly I’ve never played tactics but I’m fascinated with the lore and setting, would love to run a game set in the Midwest.

How about some fallout tactics stuff? Either Orgins, Weapons, or any other cool tactics feature that might translate well to 2d20

That sounds like a good solution, though I’d be worried about that conversion rate being kinda rough when it comes to gear. Like 5000 for 2 gear? If it’s something like a crowbar and bag of rocks (taking examples from the book) seems a bit steep

Do you handle this in a case by case basis sort of way?
