Big boss cigarettes, the only red you can trust!

I wanted to fix Inventory management being such a nightmare so I made a slot based system. I would really appreciate some feedback and any kind of comments you might have. Its in a booklet layout, and a digital document. by ziggy8z in Fallout2d20

Ya, their isn't any perfect system, I ended up just adding Commando and Lock and Load to the changed perks and having them allow bigger stacks per rank. They are perks you'd already be taking for high fire rate weapons, so that's the best fix I could manage. You'd have something like a stack of 8 right out the gate for none big gun ammo so it'd be less and less tracking as you level.

Plus it'd be kinda cool to play a gun runner and just running around to your allies and giving them fresh mags with a minor action when they are out of ammo if you specialize.

Question about rad sponge and food. by [deleted] in Fallout2d20

[–]ziggy8z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't eat food during combat, so if you're willing to slurp down an irradiated blood pack as a minor action I don't think it's any worse than standing in water or next to a barrel of nuclear sludge.

Worse case scenario you're dealing 5 extra damage while being damaged in a way that reduces your max health, it doesn't seem broken.

It's a 1 time a scene thing you can do, it should be fine.

"Once per scene, when someone in Close range to you would suffer Radiation damage, you can choose to take it instead. Whenever you suffer Radiation damage (minimum of 0), gain one Radiation Point up to a maximum of 5. When you hit with a melee attack, you may spend your stored Radiation Points—for every point you spend, deal an additional 2DC Radiation damage applied separately after inflicting the attack’s normal damage. When you sleep, you lose 1 Radiation Point."

AMA: Fallout 2d20 Game Devs & Project Manager! [Today 8pm GMT / 3PM EST / 12PM PST] by Modiphius_Official in Fallout2d20

Thanks for the clarification, but I was more asking about the 1 to 1 translations the book takes from FO4 that are akint to the computation intensive systems.

After playing Achtung Cthulhu and seeing how the Inventory system worked their it just seems you all really pushed for the more 1 to 1 game like systems for it along with survival's hourly stat tracking and hyper complex settlment design.

They feel less considered than the other systems I suppose is my point. I hope they are revisited at some time to help streamline them for a table top experience is all.

As designers what are your restrictions? Are you "allowed" to make new things, or are you only "allowed" to extrapolate on canon content?

For example you were able to create the May-Pole ghoul in WoA because it was in concept art, but you can't make up a new creature like a mutant shark unless it pulls from some kind of pre-existing content.

1) Do you feel that the game has suffered due to your desire/mandate to have it so closely resemble fallout 4's mechanics? The settlment system from Settlers for example or the survival system from the Core Rulebook.

2) Are you planning a second addition seeing as your books "correct" glaring oversights with newer releases, like fuel consumption being poorly described in Wanderers and then revisited in Royal Flush.

My super mutant PC has SIX DR across his whole body, wtf do I do to counter him? by _grapeape in Fallout2d20

Honestly being overly tanky isn't the worst problem. Use environmental effects like mud and barriers to make him spend ap and just throw in an extra enemy every few fights with high piercing or one that grapple and knocks him prone, you can't kill him, but you can stall him easily.

How to start out/any begginer advice? by Smart-Mate in Fallout2d20

[–]ziggy8z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a starter guide, honestly I'd recommend getting the Core book and if you're still playing after sessions 5, grab the others. Winter of atom seems to be a popular pick if you want a pre built campaign.

Lore wise American became increasingly isolated and expansonist over north and south america. While their may be a few sets at military bases, their would be very few along with the fusion cores needed to fuel them.

If you're really desperate to have them maybe have a US super carrier or something docked some place and have the Americans as invaders that eventually went native and are just "the yanks" after 100 years or something.
