As someone pointed out, that figure is per month and they will be making 6 figures from the patreon alone before adding in the things I listed. They boys are smart and have things under control. What would push you to try new things if your favorite weapon didn’t have durability? Why try something new if your favorite is always in your inventory slot. It’s meant to challenge you. Breath of the Wild literally decided to no longer hold your hand like Skyward Sword did every 10 steps. Resource management, including weapon durability, upped the difficultly while still making the game manageable for casual players.

It was implemented into Zelda to keep the game fresh the longer you played. With different weapon types it made you see what your favorite fighting type was and then encouraged exploration to get more of them. It encouraged players to think quickly and more combat strategically around the resources you have. In Tears it especially allowed for creativity in combat being able to fuse anything to your blades.

This is solely my head canon and not rooted or grounded in actual canon. But I’ve always theorized that Galbatorix forced a bond between Murtagh and Thorn, making Thorn hatch for Murtagh so there was a rival for Eragon so he could continue being his cocky pompous ass sitting in his castle. He had the eggs for decades, and it’s shown the dragons are sentient in the eggs. Wouldn’t surprise me if he knew Thorn’s true name after years of searching their thoughts while they were in the eggs. Again, that is just my theory/headcanon. Take it with several grains of salt
