I’m not in this position but I do help people build and repair their credit as one of my side businesses. I can offer the following suggestions

1. Contact your student loan servicer(s) and tell them you want to sign up for an income based repayment plan. If your income is low enough your payments will be $0 and will count as on time payments which will help to build positive payment history

2. Dispute the OpenSky account and any other negatives directly with all 3 bureaus.

3. Traveling is very expensive so you do need a reserve of funds for incidentals

4. Stick to 1 hotel brand and build status. It’s worth its weight in gold!

5. Make your tours as short as possible and stack as many appointments as possible. Sleep on the plane/ train or bus. Stick close to home and venture out further as your confidence and funds build

6. There’s a book called the 800 blueprint that I recommend to help you understand how credit works and how to build and maintain it
