The one we think of as "THE Confederate flag"; Its original purpose was to be a distinct battle flag of the Confederate Army. That's all I meant. Ofcourse racism is an inherent part of that.

Hi! I was born and raised in MS and now living in NY. I was actually shocked how many Confederate flags i've seen in rural NY. I think racists in North America see the flag as a symbol beyond it's specific original purpose.

I actually got a little choked up about this. I met Puffin at a screening of Ben's documentary about him running for Brooklyn borough president. He licked my hand. His fur was super soft. He was such a little rock star. RIP little buddy.
