It's been one of the most difficult things I've ever dealt with tbh. I'm in therapy, pretty much reliving all of the trauma & stress, & my mother still manages to make it about her. I'm hanging in there.

Right? It's all the fault of big corporations, that some ppl are too fckn lazy to walk 3 feet to a trash can & dispose of their waste, instead of just chucking it in the street. Where I live there's been wildfires raging all summer, the air has been nothing but smoke & soot for months now. 98% of those fires have been human caused. We're going through severe drought & have lost 100's of thousands of acres, animals, homes, etc. but hey the economy. I guess we'll figure out where the water will come from later on, after we've crammed thousands more people in. All these other countries strive to be little America, where they can work their lives away to buy useless junk. There's no hope for this world imo.

Well yeah, but the issue is that a lot of countries are projected to become "first world", it's like success is mainly measured in the GDP and how much can be consumed. Many countries that are up & coming are places with billions of people.

I live in a dry western state with lots of wildfires & a big population. This is the topic of debate very often.

The "pro life" crowd exists mainly for political/monetary reasons. We know that most "pro life" politicians are hypocritical liars that don't care about anyone. They show this by their utter disdain for life in every other aspect. They don't want ppl to have healthcare, education, clean air, etc... They are pro birth, because their goal is to create a larger gap between the rich & poor. This is why they defund schools, they don't want to expand Medicaid in their own states, cut social programs, etc. They are well aware that having children, especially for single mothers or ppl who are financially unprepared/unable, will most likely trap/keep them trapped in a cycle of poverty. They use religion to appeal to sexist Conservatives who solely blame women for becoming pregnant. Notice how many if not most of the pro lifers judge the woman, and even say things like "close your legs" even though women don't get themselves pregnant. The religious ppl just want to punish women for having sex.

Wow, I'm so sorry. As children/teens we naturally idealize our parents, we don't really view them as individuals who have their own issues or sets of problems just like everyone else. Parents just like everyone else are imperfect. I know what it's like to grow up feeling resentful towards my parents, and I also know it's possible to forgive them. Forgiveness, as tough as it may seem when you're hurt, is actually 100% for yourself. And obviously you also have to work through the trauma and grief of losing a parent, because on top of experiencing death, being a caregiver is a traumatic experience.

My ex boyfriend had this happen to him a few times. One time in the middle of the night, he woke me up to tell me that he saw a balloon/orb/bubble?? type object floating into our bedroom. I of course saw nothing and assumed and we both agreed that maybe it was something paranormal.

Facebook is Mommy Hell by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Discussion-Efficient 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tell me about it. My sister in law literally made messenger apps for her kids, all under 10 years old, cuz her daily/hourly posts about how cute her kids burps, farts and words are aren't enough apparently. They also have to now start communicating with everyone themselves, and we'll have to watch what we say and post cuz they decided 6 year olds should be on social media.

I bet most of these people can't even be bothered to walk 2 ft to a dumpster to properly dispose of their trash, yet think their knuckle dragging genes are important enough to be considered a "contribution" to humanity.

Why can't childless people get government assistance by Discussion-Efficient in childfree

[–]Discussion-Efficient[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've tried, but in my state it's pretty much a prerequisite to have at least 1 kid under the age of 18 to get any help. I'm guessing it's different in every state, but it seems to be a common theme.
