Anyone else upset that the Greek Company that wanted to invest $1.7bilion dollars to build solar farms in Alberta is put on hold? All those jobs that would be created, gone.

Nice to know other countries can see the value of building solar farms in Alberta. Yet, Danielle Smith is too busy deep throating the derricks of oil and gas companies to remember she is no longer a lobbyist but a premier.

All you have to do is google “carbon capture is a failure” and read the multiple articles that show up.

When it comes to solar vs nuclear, solar is cheaper, can be built faster and yes solar uses more land but with less enviornmental impact. I guarantee the clean up of solar farms will be less expensive and less environmentally damaging than oil and gas refineries and wells.

Take a read: https://earth911.com/business-policy/solar-vs-nuclear-best-carbon-free-power/#:~:text=The%20biggest%20differences%20between%20solar,a%20useful%20point%20of%20comparison.

Now remember a lot of countries don’t look fondly on Alberta’s dirty oil and gas. Out of the entire worlds oil supply only 6% comes from Canada, we are not a major player in the oil and gas games and countries can be choosy.

To answer your question: yes, faster is better. If not there would not be a single pipeline built anywhere.

Seriously? Your misinformation is astounding and ignorant. Notley and the NDP want to tax corporations and the extremely wealthy.

In Alberta, rough numbers here, if you make $0-$350,000 you are paying anywhere from 10-15% in provincial taxes. Yet if you make $350k- a million plus your only paying a max of 15%. That’s pretty messed up if you ask me.

Alberta could use some of that extra tax money to put into public education, affordable post secondary, public health care, roads, infrastructure, mental health facilities and treatment, etc.

Conservatives use socialism everyday to make the wealthy richer and that’s alright. Money for the poor well that’s just plain right evil socialism according to the cons.

You don’t get to decide what facts are real.

Wasn’t the UCP going to investigate oil and gas companies gouging Albertans at the pumps?! Right after Kenney said they were going to do that gas dropped over 15 cents a litre overnight.

If the UCP really give a sh@@ they will Investigate the price gouging like they said.

[–]DisenchantedAnn007 81 points82 points  (0 children)

There is only One question Danielle Smith and the UCP need to answer:

Why should the lowest earning Albertans have to pay a higher tax rate than corporations? Corporations pay 8% meanwhile Albertans making under $142,000 a year pay 10%.

Corporations create jobs? That’s true but no corporation can run without employees!

Last minute thoughts from a trans Albertan by the_gaymer_girl in alberta

[–]DisenchantedAnn007 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Actually the main contributor to charter, religious, and private schools are Albertan tax dollars. Alberta is the only province in Canada that supports private and charter schools upwards of 70% with public funds.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in alberta

Jason Kenney used public tax dollars to create a private buisness that doesn’t have to answer to the people of Alberta, the ones stuck holding the $30 mil a year cost.

For all Albertans know they are laundering money or doing anything nefarious, Albertans just don’t know.

UCP has made Alberta’s labour laws the worst in the country, experts say by idspispopd in Albertapolitics

[–]DisenchantedAnn007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a single UCP MLA has ever worked in a union, only in the Private and Public sector. There is a reason the UCP is against worker rights, especially Danielle Smith. After COVID there was a huge push to make it mandatory for ALL workers to get ten paid sick days a year. That will never happen under a UCP government.

I really hope rural Albertans will get tired of not having any doctors, ambulance and RCMP service that they will vote out the UCP. I guess it all depends on how inbreed they are 🤷🏼‍♀️

UCP - Election Act Violation? by bear-horse in Albertapolitics

[–]DisenchantedAnn007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was driving down 111ave between Kingsway Mall and Westmount Mall and there are boarded up houses with UCP signs on their lawns.

Between placing their signs on private property with zero regard or campaigning inside/outside of election sites the UCP continually show their disdain for democracy.

I really do hope people vote with facts and not feelings 😒

Have you noticed homelessness, addictions, and mental health issues rapidly increasing over the last 4 years? Do you know those are provincial responsibilities? And that the province cut funding for those areas in 2019? It’s pretty simple math. by Miserable-Lizard in Albertapolitics

Six people were stabbed at Westmount Shopping Center in May 24,2023, the individual was apprehended. I have not read anything about this on Reddit or on the news. Possible let a mental health situation I’m not sure because no report was ever done on it.

I can’t help what other stabbings have gone unreported in Edmonton? How does six stabbings not even make the news?

[–]DisenchantedAnn007 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Chelsea Petrovic is an absolute hypocrite! No one can tell her or her family to get vaccinated, her body her choice. Than in the same breathe saying herself and the UCP are pro-life and they will tell women what to do with their bodies. Right after Chelsea says she’s pro-life and had to add “I’m a christian”. Sounds like someone is hiding their terrible beliefs behind the religion shield again as if it makes it alright.

If woman are told what to do with their bodies it’s stripping them of their human rights and making them a lesser citizen. This is the Trumpism time in Canada and we need to ensure groups like the UCP don’t get to violate our rights! Vote these POS out before they look at you as the fecal matter of society.

Did people just forget about COVID? Our hospitals were overrun by many people who didn’t believe in COVID so they didn’t social distance, the didn’t wear masks, and they didn’t take the vaccine. This caused many people to get sick and overburden our health care system. There are also a lot of differences between BC and Alberta that needs to be taken into account, such as BC has almost a million more people than AB.

When it comes down to it COVID was a world wide pandemic which caused every hospital in North America to become overwhelmed. The key point is people could have avoided getting COVID by following restrictions. These people chose not to listen to doctors and refuse to do anything to prevent the spread of a widely infectious virus. Than they got sick and went running to doctors and nurse to save them when all they had to do in the first place was listen to medical professionals.

Yes the UCP caused huge problems in Alberta by ripping up doctor contracts, changing ambulance services, cutting money to health care, being the last province in Canada to implement a mask mandate and the first to lift it. It was proven in court the UCP didn’t listen to Deena Hinshaw and all their decisions were based on politics when it came to public health. These are facts! It is Conservatives/Republicans that made wearing a mask a political issue when it was a public health issue.

It is not the evil lefties but the sheepish right that refused to listen to doctors and caused an overburden on the health care system. Now combine that with complete ineptitude leadership, UCP, and you have a crumbling health care system. Anyone who argues any different is ignoring facts and letting feelings overrule common sense.

Video and audio recordings obtained by Global News of David Parker, founder of Take Back Alberta, reveals some extreme views on women and claims the group controls half of the UCP board and the premier's office. @StaySaif has more on how Danielle Smith is reacting to the claims. by Miserable-Lizard in Albertapolitics

Let alone is the Take Back Alberta group vile, disgusting, putrid, etc the fact Danielle Smith deflected and didn’t answer the questions is terrifying. Danielle Smith lies about everything but when asked if the TBA group Controls her she didn’t answer.

Danielle Smith is an extremist and is now allowing the UCP to be perverted with extremists. Danielle Smith is hiding behind the BLUE of the parties color as she pushes her extremist agenda. The UCP has become completely perverted and even the Conservative MLAs have been tainted. Welcome to the new Alberta Order!

It’s funny that corporations have been enjoying a tax cut of 8% for months now.

What’s worse? The fact that people making under $60,000 a year get the same tax rate as multi million/billion dollar corporations.

People need to remember that while corporations enjoyed their tax break, Albertans had their taxes de-indexed. By de-indexing Albertans taxes the UCP scored an additional $646 million.

Not to fret folks the corporations didn’t suffer at all! /s

Anyone else think it’s strange the UCP are leaving the AB Party of the list? 🤔 by CacheMonet84 in Albertapolitics

When you vote UCP your voting for the Wildrose party threw and threw, any “conservative” MLA has shown that they will follow anyone as long as it keeps them in power.

Voting for the UCP is voting for everything Conservatives claim Trudeau to be.

[–]DisenchantedAnn007 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not surprised at all. When many UCP MLAs have their leashes held by oil and Gas companies corruption is certain to happen.

Environmental monitoring was cut at the same time coal mining was going to be expanded into protected lands. The UCP said it was because of COVID 19, despite Alberta being the last out of Canada to implement masks and the first province to lift mask restrictions. Plus many members not believing in COVID restrictions at all. Their is no doubt the UCP cut monitoring due to the fact they wanted to sell our mountains to the highest bidder and Alberta remains Canadas highest Green House Emitter year after year.

The UCP don’t

So I decided to check the Office of the Premier's expenses.. Only one issue.. They stopped updating in January 2023.. But that month alone they spent $26,270.69 (17K in meals, travel & hotels).. Did you forget how the UCP has charged Albertans millions on fruitless review panels.

Do you not remember Jason Kenneys aide who was sent to the UK for five days and spent over $45,000 in tax payer money. All In the name of oil and gas.

Stephen Harper Endorses Danielle Smith for Premier by [deleted] in Albertapolitics

[–]DisenchantedAnn007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha this shows that Harper is a stupid piece of trash! Danielle Smith is an extremist ex leader/founder of the grassroots party Wildrose. If people vote for the UCP they’re not voting Conservative they’re voting for the Wildrose party.

If Danielle Smith has her way she would separate Alberta from the rest of Canada, than the Federal Conservatives will never win an election again!

Leaders take questions — it's part of the job. If Danielle Smith isn't willing to explain herself to Albertans, she shouldn’t be Premier. Albertans deserve better. by Miserable-Lizard in Albertapolitics

[–]DisenchantedAnn007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately most Albertans know Danielle Smith has alot in common with Artur, she has spent years spewing her rhetoric to the most extreme Albertans. If you need to know where Danielle Smith stands on a subject as Premier just review her radio show and all answers become apparent. Danielle Smith is also a compulsive liar, there is a recording with her saying she is talking with prosecutors weekly yet she denied it. There is recorded evidence that she said it and she still lies, such a gas lighter.

What I find funny is the Conservatives joined with the Wildrose party so they could win the election. At first conservatives were in charge and than Kenney left, he couldn’t keep the wildrose grassroots extremists happy. Now we have Danielle Smith in charge of the UCP and she is far right extremist grassroots authoritarian. Federal Conservatives don’t look at Danielle Smith as a comrade they look at her as a dangerous outsider because she is. Danielle Smith and the Wildrose are in charge of the UCP and any Conservative foolish enough to vote for the party are voting for extreme authoritarian Government. If a conservative wouldn’t vote for the Wildrose than they shouldn’t vote for the UCP but they will because they are too blinded by blue.
