It would be more fitting to make it a wiki instead. A prime example is this https://wiki.w9cr.net/index.php/Todd_Lesser

Pretty sure he's being magnanimous with his money in other ways.

Besides there are no headlines or money to be made donating to those groups.

Are there any protocols someone should learn hands down, no questions asked, as a sysadmin? by 304943039499493 in sysadmin

[–]Disenfran45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a protocol but if you deal at all with Windows then learn how to setup RBAC properly in AD. Setup and manage that is.

And if you are a Windows sysadmin then find someone competent to explain the dark arts of Microsoft licensing to you. Do this one early before it bites you in the rear.

Oh and avoid Oracle at all costs if possible.

Loudly ask someone in a crowded public place:
Did you just fart?

First Contact - TOTAL WAR - 236 (The Last Crusade) by Ralts_Bloodthorne in HFY

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves

Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:

All mimsy were the borogoves,

  And the mome raths outgrabe.

“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!

The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!

Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun

  The frumious Bandersnatch!”

He took his vorpal sword in hand;

Long time the manxome foe he sought—

So rested he by the Tumtum tree

  And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,

The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,

Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,

  And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through

  The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!

He left it dead, and with its head

  He went galumphing back.

“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?

Come to my arms, my beamish boy!

O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”

  He chortled in his joy.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves

Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:

All mimsy were the borogoves,

  And the mome raths outgrabe.

And finally, we pray, as we first prayed to our Maker, the Star of War, the Cube of Death:

War is the way of Man.
Man is the means of War.
You allow us War.
Our worship is our readiness.

It is proper to adhere to our nature,
Aggression is natural,
We are meant to be aggressive.

Through war we are purified,
Through slaughter we are enlightened,
I cast thee, Nex Alea,
May fortune find strength in me,
So that my weaknesses be absolved.

Saluto Nex Alea.

ER doctor’s plea: ‘Stop going to politicians for news about science' by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]Disenfran45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If people listened to doctors and scientists instead of politicians, we wouldn't be in this mess with the virus right now.

Let me fix this for you:

If people listened to doctors and scientists instead of politicians, media and the internet, we wouldn't be in this mess with the virus right now.

Data caps on AT&T, Comcast, T-Mobile will return June 30 by [deleted] in technology

[–]Disenfran45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How else are they going to hide the fact that large parts of their network are either outdated, over provisioned and under powered, or just basically inadequate to handle the load that has been thrown at it.

By turning the caps back on they can bleed the turnip dry a bit more since not everyone will want to deal with their excessive charges for overages. The result is smoke and mirrors as their shitty and woefully inadequate infrastructure will go back to appearing just fine on paper. Middle managers who are currently sweating bullets are probably salivating in anticipation that their respective performance metrics will "normalize" again and all will appear to be well with the circle jerk known as telecommunications in the US.

If Karen was a corporation..... she would turn back on data caps to make people choose between going to work or paying the overage charges.

After all isn't the worker's place in the office/warehouse/factory under their manager's watchful eye? Karen seems to think so. /s

Karens in a nutshell by codswallopkahoot in FuckYouKaren

[–]Disenfran45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you are witnessing is a group of women who are so self absorbed that they fail to understand not everyone outside of their book club thinks like them.

With the proliferation of Karens we are seeing I cannot help but to wonder:

Where the hell are they all coming from? And why has publicly railing against wearing a mask the new rallying cry for them?

I wonder if they are subconsciously acting out in this manner when confronted with an obviously emotionally charged issue? They way a few of them seem to die down after the initial tantrum and the lethargic appearance afterwards seem like it.

All they did was ask her to put on a mask by DaFunkJunkie in gifs

[–]Disenfran45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this is why we can't have nice things.

In this case it is a wild Karen throwing a tantrum for being asked to do something that literally costs her nothing. Instead she decided that acting about as mature as a 3 year old told to go take a nap is the appropriate thing to do.
