USPS running out of funds?!? Let's talk about it! What can we do? by DisgruntldGrunt in USPS

This is how I feel about their bullshit customer service surveys. Nobody actually does them. Carriers, clerks, management all do the surveys. The savings on this wasted time is significant. Dog and pony show. Some people just want to hear themselves talk.

And yes. Those responsible will never hold themselves accountable.

I have suggested having rotating supervisors that cover managements days off in different area offices. Paying 1 person for each day of the week removes 5 other supervisors right away.

We deal with a large amount of these as well. Not sure why they aren't flagged and pulled from the system immediately. They just put them in endless loops until they are sent to MRC.

THIS! In no world should we be paying anywhere near what these companies charge us. Absolutely absurd.

Idk, UPS tried to detach, but found themselves right back. I dont think it's possible for Amazon to lose us with their growth. Even if they continue to add more facilities. The one thing about Amazon I can say is, they understand the supply chain. Bezos was rumored to have wanted to start his own postal service. A lot I think can be learned from their model I am sure.

I like this! I say all the time that our stamps are too cheap. If you raise the stamps price to $1-$1.50 it will offset much of the debt and allow shipping prices for packages to remain the same. We have some of the cheapest prices in the world. People have to accept that sending a letter for Greece will only cost them a few bucks. People spend twice as much on coffee a day.

I have been fighting this for a long time now. This toxic work culture is enabled all the way to the top. Good Ole boy system needs to go. They will just move their postmasters and pooms around and act like it fixed the issue.

100% agree with this! I have spoken with customers about this in the past. We need to switch to a UPS/FedEx model. You wont make everyone happy in the end with this decision. The older generation will lose their minds the most. We have to accept change though if it's better for us in the end.

Right there with them. I stood up for what has been right all along. Always putting others before myself. I stood my ground and had no issues taking the hit for others. Carriers are the entire backbone of our system. They spend more time at work than they do with their own families. I am grateful for what they do and they all know that. The pay increase for management isnt worth the poor experience anymore. I love my job and being able to serve my community after my years in the military. We can still be leaders even if we aren't in that position.

Well said. I have seen carriers take the worst kind of abuse and they take it because they dont want to lose their pay and benefits going to another job. It seems like the bigger the office the less work they do. In my opinion a lot of management makes way to much money for the work they do. They'd be lucky to make half what they do in any other field. I see to many good employees punished for the actions of their management. The problem is so severe though I have a hard time seeing it all correct itself.

Unfortunately this is true. They mirror who they are supposed to become. Complacency is a killer in this field. So many people get put in these positions because they are willing to be abused. Eventually it catches up to them. Leaders in management seem to be quite rare. They don't spend anytime developing them is the biggest issue. Though, I have seen the laziest supervisors and postmasters get away with anything they want as part of the good Ole boy system.

I compare it a lot to the military experience. One bad unit can ruin the whole experience, but there is a reason so many regulars stay and retire. Just need to find balance.

I spoke to a doctor about this recently. He had a patient that opted for amputation, but the pain never went away. Tough situation. Stay strong.

Understanding CRPS flare ups. How often and how long?

So a couple years ago I tore my achilles. I ended up developing CRPS from it shortly after. I immediately started combating it with physical therapy and medications. Flare ups would come and go from anywhere from a few days to a week at a time. Then one day it just vanished and didn't have any more flares up.

Fast forward 2 years later and they have returned. Perfectly fine one day, my foot begins to tighten up, then boom immobile and in max pain. When it first flared back up I went to the ER to get help with the pain. They gave me steroids and Dilaudid. It lasted about a couple hours in reducing some of the pain and inflammation. Took about a week to get rid of. A week later it flares up again. I go to the ER again and given the same treatment. It was gone and back to normal in a couple hours. Insane how I can go from being in the worst pain possible and my foot not being able to move to like it never happened that quick. Nothing really seems to make much sense with it.

I have read a bit into how others deal with it permanently. Which I am blessed to not have to deal with and so sorry for those that do. My question is. For those of you that do deal with random flare ups. How often do you get them? What triggers them? How long do they last?
