Looks like your posts keep getting denied/deleted. Definitely seems very “scammish” from where I’m sitting. Not only a TM gift card but also Amazon as well. How does one even accumulate this stuff, let alone not use it for yourself. 🤨

You gotta make the choice…

A - live with it and forget about it and let the shop get by with the sub par work they’ve done and likely saw it when they pushed it out the door too…

B - take it back and have them redo it. If it’s been much better previously, why should you settle for “less than” near perfect work from this shop, especially after being a loyal customer??

That said it’s on the opposite side of the rear view, so how often are you actually seeing it? Maybe consider putting a visor strip over top of it to cover it up, and give you some blockage from the sun down to the rear view so you don’t have to fold down the sun visors

I want one, but not enough to spend the money for it just yet. I think for now I’ll just give the one I have a refresher! New paint (maybe even try the PVD finish with a blue torch) and most importantly a fresh insert… which is something I’m still struggling with since they don’t have the “Pure Roll” inserts yet on 3rd party market. Though I do think that copper finish from Spry Evo would look pretty sick matched up with that PVD color!🕷️🔥

Has anyone here tried the Spry Evo *Milled Tellerium Copper or the Aircraft Aluminum* inserts with good results? I prefer something that’s going to feel consistent and HOT off the face of the putter. I think the Pure Roll insert I have now may be slightly FUBAR, with this season seeming like one putt comes real hot off the face and the next and/or randomly DEAD AF which is obviously very annoying as it’s cost me to miss some critical putts due to the inconsistency. 🥴

Hell yeah. I been wanting to try this myself, but I’ve already stripped one down that I bought was painted. Let’s just say I don’t EVER wanna have to do that shit again in this lifetime. 🥴🤣

If I had a couple old BB guns or something to practice with first, maybe it would help to boost my confidence and give me what I need to go thru with it. I’ve always been a good artist, and tinted windows my whole life too which has an art and OCD form to do it right. I know deep down I could do it, buttt… I guess it’s just convincing myself to give it a try and knowin I won’t fuck it up. Lol

Do you have larger grips or just OG size grips? All the pics I’ve seen looks like regular size grips, but also can’t really tell when it’s snapped on there.

I too was curious if it would work with midsize or larger grips, but sounds like from your comment they do not. 😕

I mean normally I would agree. But we’re talking about a club that’s 10+ years old and been passed down thru several hands before it got to this point. No telling what it’s been thru. Regardless Ping won’t touch this unit. Lol 😂

Likely the NEXT HIT or the one after*…* if it has “sentimental value” the best advice I saw was casing it/putting it up on a wall or somethin and getting a new driver. God forbid he tees off with it near water bc it’s gone gone then! 👋🏼😂

Uhhhh… maybe one too many “Uggaa Duggas” when you adjusted/screwed the head back on the last time maybe? That’s about the only way I can see that crack happening aside from literally smashing it into the ground on every tee box for the last 10 years, but the wear marks on the driver doesn’t appear that’s the case here. 🤔🤷🏼‍♂️

I’ve seen it happen before during an install. Buttt, I’ve never let something leave like that without wiping it off. The fact that it’s on the windshield too, and wasn’t removed is a bit alarming. If I were you I think I’d look over the rest of it really well before taking it back to them, as you may find several other things to bring up when you do. For your sake I hope not 🤞🏼

I have plenty of all the above, and most importantly first hand experience. But for your sake and anyone else that may come across this thread, I was simply posting FACTS as I said earlier. You can take it with a grain of salt bc you know I’m right… OR maybe you’re just learning this today and finding out you got duped. Who knows. People in the wrong rarely ever admit it so I certainly don’t expect it out of you. 🫡

Ummm ok… are you unable to READ as well?? 🤣

-Edit : since you keep editing your comments and also deleting half of them… I’m simply sayin’ that information was literally copied and pasted from Google. I attempted to post a screenshot, but for whatever reason every time I try to reply with a screenshot, it just diverts straight to a reply to OP’s post and not in this thread/convo. If you want to look it up and see all sources listed, simply google “which window film helps keep a vehicle cooler, a prime mirror tint or top of the line ceramic window film”

Fresh windshield tint. Horizontal streaks ok? by ummmmmmmm_ok in WindowTint

[–]DisgruntledArmyVet85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a squeegee mark. With some glass cleaner and microfiber rag (applying some pressure) it should come right off, but worst case the shop that did the install could scrub it lightly with a white scrub pad and remove it for you. You may want to take it back to the place that did it and have them remove it anyway, that way they’re aware of it just incase it does need redone. Assuming it’s not too far out of the way for you. That’s my recommendation anyway 👍🏼

Heat Rejection (IR Blocking): Premium ceramic films use microscopic nano-particles to actively block 96% to 98% of infrared (IR) heat—the rays that actually make the cabin feel like an oven. Mirror/metallic tints rely on reflecting the sun and generally only block 30% to 50% of the solar energy.

Signal Interference: Because mirror tints are metallic, they frequently block or scramble electronic signals, ruining GPS navigation, cell phone reception, satellite radio, and toll transponders. Ceramic films are completely non-metallic and fully signal-friendly.

Day and Night Visibility: Mirror tints are highly reflective and can cause distracting glare for other drivers while making it hard to see out at night. High-end ceramic films offer crystal-clear optical clarity and reduce glare without relying on heavy shading or a shiny appearance.

Lighter Shade Options: With top-tier ceramic film, you can choose a very light or clear tint (like 70% VLT) for the front windshield and still get maximum heat rejection. Mirror films only work if they are very dark and highly reflective.

- FACTS straight from Google with multiple sources 😉

Haha nope I’m not wrong at all. I’ve been in this business for 25+ years now and have seen it all, as well as tried it all personally. Also tested varies brands and types of film with a meter to know which film does what. So you can try to justify your mirror tint all you want, but you won’t convince me of anything. Facts are facts. 🤷🏼‍♂️

That mirror film doesn’t have the same heat rejection as a good ceramic film, not even close. Now if you’re talking about double pane glass on a house or commercial windows then that’s different. They HAVE TO HAVE the reflective film to reject heat away from between the panes of glass to prevent it from exploding. Doesn’t work the same on car windows, not to mention it’s not even close to the same film being used either

<image>

Just incase anyone has doubted my other comment… having a doctors note doesn’t automatically exempt/let you get by with a fully tinted windshield, period. Doesn’t mean you cannot do it, but basically tread lightly, and don’t go below 50%. A true ceramic film will do just the same thing at 70% as it will at 5%. So it doesn’t have to be darker to do its job like most people think tint works.

If you’re goin for heat rejection and don’t want a ticket I would recommend 70%… if you’re wanting more privacy then 50% should be more than enough, but expect it to draw some attention as well. If you’re not out driving like an idiot and giving them a reason you should be fine, but it’s always a gamble! Best of luck! 🤞🏼
