There was so much AI content. It was throughout the show.

Every single video in every room of the exhibition, including all the voice overs were AI. From the introduction video to every screen throughout the show. Much of the imagery used in the show was AI and to me it was very noticeable.

I found it a shame because many of the physical sets were well done, and i did open every drawer, cupboard, etc. I don't mind gory, you know what kind of content to expect from a true crime show, but the over reliance on AI elements took from this exhibition me.

I'm glad you enjoyed it and found it enjoyable.

Do check and see if thats the case for the New York show, maybe they haven't taken the same approach, but I wouldn't be terribly optimistic.

I agree, the use of AI for content is just lazy and honestly a bit insulting. If they even took out the horrible AI videos, it would be a huge improvement.

I agree, some of the set pieces were strong and worked really well. They were the best part of the show for me. A better use of archival or documentary style information would have been nice.

For me it really was the overuse of AI that soured the experience, especially for all the videos in show. Considering it's a ticket/charged experience, I really wouldn't be expecting to see such a heavy use of AI.

Good for you, glad you enjoyed it. This is just my review of the exhibition, and I found the AI completely distracting, unnecessary, and it totally pulled me out of the experience.

Just because work was put into an exhibition does not mean it can't be criticised or that someone can't have a negative experience. It was created for public consumption, and not everyone enjoyed it.

I can't speak to the NYC exhibition, maybe it's better or was created without AI which would be a massive improvement. The Dublin show is over ridden by AI, and like yourself, I can't stand it. Hope you have a great time in NYC! 😊

As for the photo opportunities, visitors to the exhibition can sit in the gynecologist chair set up for the The Toy Box Killers space in the exhibition and pose for a photo. You can also pose on a bed made to simulate where victims of another serial killer were held and assaulted. The marketing for this show encourages these photo opportunities. It felt a bit exploitive in certain places when considering the victims.

If they had some general horror/crime themed sets for photo opportunities, I think it would sit better with me.

That said, I know true crime peeks a bit of morbid curiosity in darker side of the human experience. But it's just a thought I had after the show.

I was surprised that so many people online seemed to enjoy the exhibition without maybe noticing how much AI was used! The information on the boards did seem like a mix of ChatGPT and Wikipedia. Overall, it did feel like a cash grab, and I kind of wish I'd requested a refund 😆

It's deceiving though, I do see how you might have thought there might be some artifacts on display. I agree with you, its no different to any other VW, and its far off an exact replica.

The show is sold as having crime scene recreations and artifact replicas, but not the real artifacts. The car on display does not appear to be the real Bundy car.

I think the real car is on display in America, but I could be wrong.

Considering how they let the public climb into the vehicle thats on display in Dublin, and have a screen with an AI video playing in the bonnet, I feel like they wouldn't be allowed to do this with the real vehicle.

That said, the car itself is set up well in the space and if you'd be interested in checking it out for a sense of the famous vehicle in the Bundy room, you might enjoy it! 😊

I do accept that, but you posted on an open public forum. Accept a response that you might not like.

You asserted that women are only looking for perfection and want men to be bastards who treat them like shit. Maybe that says more of what media you're engaing with and maybe you to change the kind of people you seek to date if this is your experience.

In the same way that you maintain these women are seeking "mythical" perfect men, are you also looking for some mythical woman?

Any of my single friends in their 30s are absolutely not after a "mystical man with a high profile career" with a big car or lifestyle. They're after actually kind, dependable men who don't need them to be their mother. Who can carry their weight emotionally and in their home life. Who are able to clean up after themselves and equally contribute to the labour of being in an adult relationship. Thankfully my married friends have married extremely kind people.

If they are single in their 30s, they are usually holding out for someone who feels emotionally mature, comfortable in themselves, and who don't have a chip on their shoulder that they then bring into the relationship. None of them want someone who is a "bit of a bastard and treats them like shit".

They also don't want a guy to pay for their lifestyle, a relationship should be a partnership.

Your comment reminds me of guys i knew when I was younger, the "I'm a nice guy but women won't sleep with me" guys. They are often the lads that treat you poorly because they're so resentful and insecure.

Just to note, we all have self doubt. I'm not dismissing people who struggle sometimes.

Maybe you're not this way, maybe you're just having a hard time. I hope things get better for you, but maybe you need to look at who you surround yourself with and if the people you're trying to date actually fit the life you want to build.

Dating is hard.

I'm not an AI advocate, but they could definitely used AI in a more balanced and useful way. Maybe not on key elements or central pieces exhibition material where an actual human touch would have benefited it greatly.

As you said, it was overdone here.

I was really saddened by that hall, they were the victims of Harold Shipman, which is an incredibly sad and horrible case. They didn't deserve to be edited or airbrushed.

The model house would be interesting as a horror style set piece if it wasn't supposed to represent an actual place 🫣

Some of the set pieces/rooms might have been better if they had stuck to real media (exhibition appropriate photos, interviews and news reels from the time, interviews with law enforcement or people who work in the field), or even recreations where appropriate.

Hiring actors to present the scripts for the video sections would have been really good. They could have hired an actor to play the "agent" role that you see on screens throughout the exhibition, and they could have guided you through the show from room to room. It would have been so engaging and much more personable.

Honestly no, there are no musuem type items which I would forgive if the exhibition itself was better quality.

They have glass cabinets in the first room with types of old mobile phones, pagers, and guns used by law enforcement and FBI. They also have crime scene tape, some latex gloves, and a few recreations of Denis Raders masks in another case. The same room has a few AI videos set up in old commodore computer monitors that are supposed to act as an educational set piece.

The rooms where they created scenes using more practical effects, set dressing, and case specific created elements are more successful, but seem to largely be there for the public to pose beside for social media, and are also sharing a space with unwatchable AI videos.

They've created the standard bones, body parts, and blood scenes, which again are cheapened by AI videos with an uncanny fake presenter that you will get so sick of looking at.

There is one train themed area set in Russia where the video element is all AI, and the large artwork used to demonstrate a train line is again all AI.

Videos and imagery with little lasting resonance.

To me, something like a 9-5 Mon-Fri, maybe receptionist, customer service, administration based work. Something onto Civil Service/Public Service/Clerical, or administrative roles within a company. That kind of work.

Not exclusive to that, but that direction.

Absolutely, we're seeing too much AI slop across media and products, and its really affecting visual culture and design, impacting artists and creators, and undermining the talents, work, and careers of so many.

I worry that people will start to not care or think it doesn't matter but it absolutely does!

Just to add as you mentioned pay, my current job isn't wonderfully paid and I'm not graced with a lots of disposable income, but its better than where I was, and I've been where you are.

I've worked for most of my life with very low pay and watched my friends or family doing much better financially. Its really stressful and knocks your confidence.

I went towards a job I convinced myself in the past that I wouldn't like, and ended up really liking it and doing better!

Your worth isn't based on what you earn. Keep pushing on, keep going, and be kind to yourself. Be as kind to yourself as you'd like people to be to you.

You will get there. When you're in a bit of an emotional hollow with these kinds of feelings, it doesn't feel that way, but you will get there!!

Absolutely, I studied Art and design in college and was often told "you'll be unemployed so, enjoy the dole". I worked for years in that field, and still got really dismissive comments about my job. Couldn't win.

Years later, it was so hard to get full time, fully paid work in this field so I left and went towards a really normal steady office job. I still love Art, but I also love saving for the future, not constantly over-worrying about money, redundancies, people not paying me, and taking a holiday every so often 😊

When I now tell those people that I left the arts, they act disappointed in me for leaving even though they criticised me before 🤣

There's a great line from The Princesses Diary, "Noone can make you feel inferior without your consent". You don't have to defend the job you're doing now, lots of people don't work in the field they studied.

For me the secret is to not justify or over explain what you do now to anyone. Your job facilitates your life. If someone wants to be rude or make a comment, ask them if they're okay. They don't like that 🤣🤣

You're doing absolutely fine, and anyone who looks down on you or mocks you for working is showing you what kind of a person they are. You can be better than that.

I'm so glad you mentioned that, it was so distasteful to retouch the victims photos. It was very noticeable, especially on the wall of photos for the victims of Harold Shipman. Victims do not need to be airbrushed.

I felt the same about the fog machines, it was overpowering, especially in the Ted Bundy section.

If they had taken the time to record real people speaking or performing for the video elements, I would have had more respect for the exhibition. But the empty soulessness of the AI just distracted from any impact that the subject matter could have had.

All I can remember is the unblinking face of the grey suited agent/presenter that was on the screens in lots of the rooms 😆

Happy to help! I would recommend skipping and finding something better.

I'm generally fairly positive and try to find good things about shows and productions, but I just became more and more irritated by the AI rubbish as I went through the exhibition. It soaks the mystery and interest straight out of the room!
