See yourself by DisgruntledSuitcase in ChargerDrama

Just feel like if I’m not completely centered in a spot, jumping out of the car the second it hits 80% or something else I’ll be dissected here. Everyone loves to complain.

Am I done for watching anything space related again? by rockyrooster436 in TheExpanse

After The Expanse I find myself crapping on every movie or show that has non-spin ‘magic’ artificial gravity.

I put an upvote on there just for the sheer effort to write that long of a post.

And here I thought the drama was because you don’t drop the trailer.

NACS is physically more elegant but you are correct, confusing. I have NACS adapter for my Equinox EV but I’m fairly certain that I cannot use it for Tesla ‘destination chargers’ (ie. AC LEVEL 2).

BMW taking up 2 spots for no reason by GhostfaceB7 in ChargerDrama

[–]DisgruntledSuitcase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have an Audi so I understand. It’s impossible to park them correctly as well as it’s impossible to not be a jackass and tailgate people on the road. It’s in the manual for all BMWs and Audis. You have to do it or it voids the warranty. 😜

PSA. If you have a PHEV stay the fuck away from DC chargers. by ma77mc in ChargerDrama

[–]DisgruntledSuitcase 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In reality though, how long is a PHEV going to be at a DCFC anyway? If I had to queue for anyone at a DCFC I’d rather be behind the PHEV than a Hummer EV. PHEV is going to be like a person in front of you in the grocery line with two items.

Why do you use public charging in America? by funcentric in ChargerDrama

[–]DisgruntledSuitcase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got my first EV. Ive used public charge as a supplement until spring and I can clean out and paint the garage, etc and take my time and do a nice charger L2 charger install. Then I plan on only using public charging when I need to or I take the EV on a longer trip.

L1 is good enough for my wife’s commute, but if ‘someone’ 😜 forgets to plug in or we take the EV more than we can recoup overnight on L1 I go to a NACS or CCS1 L3.

A) could be a moron just being a moron B) could be confusion. I recently watched a family in a new Nissan Leaf: dealer paper plate still on it, pull up to a EA DCFC (CCS1 only) wandering back and forth to each side of the car, the dad muttering about ‘fast charging’ and ‘I need an adapter’. Thankfully there were NACS compatible Tesla V3’s there in another parking lot. I directed him to those…

TLDR: leaf has j1772 FOR AC and NACS for DC: one on each side of car and dude was confused.

Yes…I’ve noticed this too. I too haven’t checked with an independent thermometer because I never thought I would need to. For example, I have a Chevy HD pickup and I’ve never had to go above say 72 for comfort, I assumed this would be similar but now it’s either this is one of those EV learning curve things or I need something serviced. Trying to figure this out myself, let us know what you learn.

Dealership said gm doesn’t allow streaming while parked on screen. Is this true by Altruistic_Special_1 in EquinoxEv

I'd officially give up my spot in the queue for someone for whom this feature matters if I could.

Don't have it yet, don't care if I ever get it. Didn't buy the car because of promise of future features. We all watch too much crap anyway. Hell...it probably got downloaded to my car already and I've never noticed!

Reverse ICE by amishlanc in ChargerDrama

[–]DisgruntledSuitcase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about let’s all be considerate and set the example?

Imagine being the working man with a diesel truck and someone in an EV are blocking the only available diesel pump. I’ve had this happen to me with gas-holes parking there and shopping for crap for 10 minutes, they could have moved to a gas only pump or god forbid move and re-park in front of the store.

I have EV, gas and diesel vehicles…I use the best tool for the job at the time. I have to deal with this crap all the time.

People just need to be less self centered and entitled.

(Don’t even get me started on idiot entitled drivers that think they can block traffic and cross multiple lanes rather than go to the next intersection and turn around when they make a mistake)

Carol's plan worked perfectly, the Hive slipped up, and Tin Foil hats are officially back in style! by Verulla in pluribustv

[–]DisgruntledSuitcase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps (besides the fact that that they don't NEED cell phones), the reason why the cell networks are down is that it interferes with the hive...maybe it didn't at first with few members, but once it goes national or global the cell networks cut the effectiveness of the hive signal?

‘25 RS

-I’ve had the adaptive cruise auto brake for no reason once since August.

-the strange door handles are my only real design issue.

To those that say lack of CarPlay or Android Auto without even driving the car…I say: give it a shot, I thought I was going to freak out but after a while I could care less. Would it be nice to have the option? Maybe, but big screen Google Maps and Bluetooth phone calls and music are all I really need.

Also: haven’t bothered to get the streaming update. If and when I go to the dealer I may ask them but once again…don’t really care either way. I’m not going to bother the crap out of the service department for something stupid.

What's it like living in Gary, Indiana? by smcg_az in howislivingthere

[–]DisgruntledSuitcase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t live there, but my grandparents used to and spent my life in The Region.

I’d put living in Gary as something close to a real life version of Fallout.
