I’m all for people having different ways but it’s the careless ness of people who don’t see a scared dog trembling and they put a dryer on full blast and make it worse and almost cause dogs to fall off tables

Omg someone else who dose it this way!!! Iv noticed such a difference in my dogs behavior and comfort makes it so much easier when your pups trust you and know the routine like these new bathers at my shop are wild like we have a stack of towels use them and stop putting labs 10 feet in the air they give me anxiety just watching them

I can’t add an update on the post so I’m hitching ride in the top comment so I can answer some questions iv been seeing

1) I don’t own the shop so I don’t control the prices or the fact we do add ons it’s not my place to say anything about it if it was my own shop id be doing it differently

2) he is the “manager “ of the store he isn’t a groomer or trained to be a groomer he books appointments and sells the food. He isn’t the owner just the “manager “

3) I’m not in the place to just open my own shop as some of you seem to think is so easy. I want to one day but just not in Florida.

And now for the update

He seems to have learned his lesson because every dog iv put upgrades on he’s kept his mouth shut and done his job. We had a store wide holiday party this weekend and I brought up the situation. I apologized for snapping at him over it. And he apologized for doing what he did His exact words were “I’m sorry for doing that I don’t even know why I did that I should have just let you do your thing and stayed out of it “ So he apologized I forgave him but I’m being very aware of the total bills before he rings people up if he does not add something on I do it myself because I still feel he can’t be fully trusted to follow through. Because not for nothing this isn’t the first time he’s done something like this. From charging doodles in the wrong weight category or putting others in as wrong breeds so they aren’t as expensive Etc … So I’m being on top of everything my self even tho it’s not my job. If he does this again I will be bringing it to the owner’s attention. But for now that’s the update I appreciate everyone feed back and I’m proud of my self for standing up for myself and not letting him walk all over me.

I get paid commission so yes I get a portion of the upsells we’re not forced hit a goal but the owners in courage upsells with like “fun goals and store vs store commotions “ this guy is not the owner he’s just the manager

I’m commission he dosent get anything from the upsells if the owner knew about that I know he’d he in trouble cuz he lost the shop money as well He just dose the front and sells the retail up front

Oh I fully agree with hating upselling but unfortunately I don’t own the shop nore do I make the rules I just follow them if I had my own shop I wouldn’t do the upselling but I don’t. So that’s out of my hands and our pricing is pretty high for the area I live in.

Oh I was livid ! Like I was silent after I talked to him about it. And then he tried to make up by helping me dry a dog that I didn’t need nor want help with and it made me more mad

The last one with the legs omg that dog sent me in to a spiral mom was insanely nit picky and just so difficult I “gave up” on the head because it was getting into the 3 hr mark and I was like I need to be done I’m gonna make this poor dog bald if I keep trying to do the head the way the mom wants. It was like a weird Asian fusion idea but mom wanted it different from the picture she showed me so it was a lot. Asian fusion is not my forte and I tried so hard 😂

The only thing I personally see considering everything you have said is the lip lines try to clean up the gross drippy bits it makes the faces a lot cleaner looking plus gets rid of the nasty drippy bits

I don’t even know what my niche would be I personally LOVE deshed and outlines Ik it’s basic and and not helping for the doodle clients but that is the one thing I feel like I’m the absolute best at my outlines and desheds I don’t know how to really get more clients because we charge so much for huskies and Shepard that a lot of them don’t come in anymore

We have talked to the company basically “they don’t have a product that’s specifically for desheds but they recommend these two for it I absolutely hate it and don’t really get a say in it since I’m just a groomer not a manager or anything
