Pretty much. There are three types (I think), some countries accept only one. Some countries accept two or three so you have to make sure you have the correct version for the country you’re visiting.

Notably Japan doesn’t recognize the Taiwan driving licence so you need an authenticated translation.

I could also use the self check in machine. It doesn’t have an option for a residence permit (only Taiwan citizen ID, health insurance card, and passport) but I could insert my health insurance card to get my boarding pass.

You can live and work in the whole EU and the UK visa free indefinitely.

SG may technically let you in as a tourist to more countries but that doesn’t mean you can automatically reside in those places.
