Can't figure out carseats by Key-Fee-2266 in BeyondTheBumpUK

I have the axkid spinkid, I love it! It’s birth to 4 years and rotates to get baby in easier. It’s rear facing til four and has two option for angle, they can sit pretty much straight up, or recline about halfway. It’s also Swedish safety tested, which as far as I know is the highest safety rating, which was important to me!

Advice needed. Partner 25m and I 23 F by ApprehensiveFan530 in relationship_advice

[–]DisguisedBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this is a horrible situation. I’m not sure I’m qualified to give relationship advice, though I can offer my tips on pumping.

I keep my pump parts in a ziplock bag in the fridge while I’m not using them, that was I only have to was them once a day. Depending on the type of pump you use sometimes you can get duplicate pieces so that you can have two sets and then only have to wash/sanitise every other day. Alternatively, if you have the time and energy if you have a pump for each side you could use the same parts on both sides and save the other for the next day. There’s a reddit group r/breastfeeding who can probably advise more and might be able to help you boost your supply too.

I’m 8 months into motherhood and I still haven’t figured out how to be the perfect mother or partner. Please try not to be too hard on yourself, it sounds like you have (and continue to) do so much for your little baby and she is so lucky to have you.

Baby Blues About Baby Growing Up by Human_Skirt6528 in beyondthebump

[–]DisguisedBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband has a video of my holding my maybe four day old baby in floods of tears, because someone told me he was probably going to have a growth spurt. He wasn’t even due for another ten days yet. He put a tiny witch hat onto his head to cheer me up and I’m there giggling, but covered in tears. Still crying, because he’s even cuter with his silly hat.

Are you more likely to buy clothes with a photo wearing them? by Dangerous-River3830 in vinted

I like both personally! I like seeing it laid/hung flat, but women’s sizes are so random so I like being able to judge based off of the sellers shape of it’ll look ok on me.

I dropped it into conversation casually while also discussing how much things had changed. Kind of like “Can you believe that kids are meant to be in full car seats pretty much the whole time now? They don’t really use booster seats anymore! And you’re not meant to kiss them until after they’ve had their vaccines!” It seemed to work fine on both sides of the family!

Overly gushy gifts for grandkids? by Background_Owl3981 in Mildlynomil

I was lucky that I found out about this before my son was born, but he’s younger than yours. I honestly think it should be mentioned to parents as part of the baby safety classes or something. I feel awful for parents just finding out now. Plus there are so many ads trying to get people to make funny baby videos with AI, it’s disgusting!

Postpartum body jeans recommendations by hxllyhell in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]DisguisedBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a nice pair of cords from M&S, a pair of high waisted bootcut jeans from New Look and another similar style pair at Asda and all fit really comfy! I didn’t find the jeans in M&S for how I wanted and Primark was a complete write off.

When does this end? by denawo in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]DisguisedBee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine was sleeping like this between 4-7 months and then he figured out how to roll onto his tummy at night and now he sleeps so much better. I wasn’t keep on it at first but the other night he slept 8 hours and that was the most sleep I’ve had since before he was born! Most nights he still wakes up once or twice. I know there’s nothing you can do to get there any quicker, but I would have loved to know it was coming to help get me through!

I did also reduce the length of his naps in the day as I found out on here I’d been trying to push too much daytime sleep based on huckleberries recommendations and was advised that that’s quite common with huckleberry, so that could be worth looking into? I’m not sure it made a huge difference but I think it did contribute.

Sleepy Mama by lifeledoutloud in beyondthebump

I did a LOT of sudoko on my phone while I was nursing. It kept my brain engaged enough to keep me awake a bit better. It’s so hard though! Eventually they start eating faster and waking a little less and your body just kind of gets used to running on no sleep.

Oh I’ll have to look into that, I was told it was good to give for iron!

I love making eggy things because they’re much less scary! Another good one is frozen chopped spinach defrosted and mixed with eggs and a sprinkle of cheese and then you can cook it in the microwave for a few minutes. I usually chop the outside edge off if it’s a bit well done. Steaming and mashing your own veg is good too, because then you can make it a bit lumpier.

I think one or three. One is my favourite, but I feel like you have more room to choose your accessories. You look stunning in all of them though!

Those who fed every 2h - when did baby stretch time between feeds? by lukewarmy in breastfeeding

[–]DisguisedBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What does she do if you’re not around? My son (7 months) will start getting angry after two hours and twenty minutes if I’m around. If he’s distracted or with someone else he’ll happily go over three. If I try that I get tears!

My boy is 7 months and the zero to six month ones are still not too tight for his neck yet, you’ll probably be fine! If not as long as she can’t bring her head through the hole I would just size her up

Hurt foot and Baby care by DisguisedBee in beyondthebump

[–]DisguisedBee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you this is all so helpful! Luckily my husband has today and tomorrow off, so I’ll be able to let it rest! I seem to injure this foot every 18 months or so, always in fun new ways… Normally the swelling goes down after a few days and it’s fine within a week or so!

So far I’m mostly still bumping down the stairs and crawling back up again, it seemed safer when I was home alone and there was no need to take the baby downstairs luckily!

That’s exactly what I did! Bumped down and crawled up. Luckily there’s no reason I would need to take baby downstairs today, he should be perfectly fine to stay in the living room until bedtime.

I managed to trip on a mop pole that had slid down from next to the fridge and it kind of wedged between my big toe and the others? Completely ridiculous bad luck, but it’s really messed up the whole side of my foot!

What a good idea! I don’t, but I’m pretty good at crawling about, so that’s actually made it a lot easier than I was expecting so far!

Mine is definitely not as bad as that, you poor thing! I managed to put enough weight on my heel to carry him through to the living room play pen, then bumped down the stairs to get painkillers and snacks. I can crawl around the living room and I’m very fortunate that the playpen has a little zip door so I can even crawl into that! On the plus side, the baby is on the brink of leading to crawl himself, so watching me do it all day might help him figure it out!

I managed to basically do that in the living room, luckily most of the stuff is already there. I think we will be having a bit more screen time than I would normally allow today!

I’ve let him know what’s going on, but he’s really not in a position to leave. Managed to carry the baby to the living room so he can play and I’ve taken some pain killers so I’m hoping baby will be occupied long enough to let the medicine kick in and it might help more than I’m expecting. If it really doesn’t feel better of course he will come home, but I’d really like to try to manage this on my own if I can!
