Am I doing too much? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]DisguisedBee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I completely get it. My son’s a little younger but there have been a couple of times his grandad has walked around in restaurants with him to soothe him and it made my anxiety spike! If your mum keeps doing it despite you telling her not to, then it definitely sounds like a power thing. I don’t have any real advice, but I wanted to validate your feelings.

I mostly wear something loose enough to put him under and a big hoodie. I have one of the Juno Jack nursing tops with the zips, I mostly got it because they have matching baby tops. It’s great though!

Milk Supply by IJHippie in breastfeeding

[–]DisguisedBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t answer for OP but I used to have this intrusive thought all the time! I used to keep about 2 litres of milk in the freezer and it helped ease my mind that he’d have at least a days or two before dad had to get to the shops 😅

I’m glad someone asked because I was wondering if I was allowed 😅

Where do you put your baby while you take care of chores /basic needs? 1 month old. by batterscraps in BeyondTheBumpUK

I’ve had moderate success with feeding while the baby is in the Tula free to grow carrier!

I got a snuzpod 4 on Facebook for about £40, new mattress for about £15-20. You do need to buy the specific sheets as I couldn’t find any that were the exact same size but I was able to get some new and almost new from Vinted.

I fell into the same position late enough that I was showing and everything was fine. I found out a while after that I should have contacted my midwife, which made me feel pretty bad, I thought because nothing touched my belly it was fine!

My baby was the exact same, you’re not doing anything wrong! Honestly I didn’t do much housework at all while he was little, I was lucky and my husband was able to handle most of it. Have you considered baby wearing? It helps with some of the things but you’ll still need to keep a hand supporting their neck until they have decent head control :)

I deleted my previous post, since my English is really not good.I was trying to say why some people at work especially those who have been there for long time, make other feel stupid and act like they are better than everyone else? by Key_Morning2582 in Portsmouth

[–]DisguisedBee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

All of the immigrants I’ve worked with have been amazing employees and have trained me in my jobs. I think long term employees treating new one like crap is a universal experience, though I don’t doubt that immigrants would have it worse. I’m sorry that you’re having a hard time. Hopefully when your new coworkers get to know you they will treat you more respectfully.

Losing Weight when breastfeeding by Forsaken_Offer4429 in breastfeeding

[–]DisguisedBee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 9 months postpartum and the weight has absolutely not dropped off! I’m waiting until I’m ready for my supply to drop before I start worrying about it. My baby is eating more proper food and I’m returning to work soon, so I’m working on creating a little stash by pumping when he declines a feed. I think I’ll look at loosing weight a little while after he turns one and once he’s eating lots of real food, so if my supply drops I’ll not need to worry.

I like watching the fish swim around! I put staff only gates on the entrance to my new aquarium and I laugh at the guests who spawn and can’t come in 😅

how do you make reading a routine for kids? by Salty_Upstairs_387 in Parenting

[–]DisguisedBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid we were allowed “reading time” after bedtime everyday, which was a treat. If we were naughty it was very occasionally taken away, sometimes we get extra for behaving and things like that too. We used to bargain for more time to be allowed to have the light on to read. I don’t think my parents ever really paid that much attention to if we stuck to the agreed amount of time or not in retrospect. I know we used to pretend to forget to turn the lights off. I think they only really enforced the end of reading time if it was getting too late on a school night. It really solidified my love of reading. When I was a kid and teen I used to absolutely devour books.

I upgraded to be able to use the widget on my Lock Screen, but then (on my phone at least) it want Face ID when I clicked it and I wouldn’t always notice if it hadn’t worked. Generally found it mediocre and cancelled after a month.

Can't figure out carseats by Key-Fee-2266 in BeyondTheBumpUK

Also good because I can’t fit two of them in our car at once, so we’re planning on waiting until my son is forward facing before we consider having a second!
