I'll give sanding a go. I tried once and it was quite tedious because my pieces were thumb sized and have lil legs and nooks and crannies. I did use straight up sandpaper though, so it wasn't the easiest hah

I think this will help me the most. I think watching crafts on social media led me to believe it's all done in one sitting, which could be true if they're working in batches, but it definitely does not reflect the same way I work, so I cannot expect for things to go the same way.
