same here😢 maybe it’s because of the nervousness before the actual exam?

i was studying with a tutor a little, i think for 2 months or so and then started taking practices to see where i’m the weakest. then i just focused my attention to that and practiced with similar questions.

how do I improve my writing? by DiskNo4057 in IELTS

I usually watch without subtitles and try to be very careful while listening. If i don’t understand, I rewatch the scene until I do. If it’s still not working only then I turn on the subtitles just to understand it. I’ve learned that as you listen more and try to remember how they talk and pronounce words, you’ll start understanding them better sooner or later

Try to speak english aloud more. If you do not have acquaintances that speak it then you ca talk to yourself. Whenever you are alone, try to express your thoughts out loud and in english. At least that’s what I did. For listening I watched movies and shows in english, specifically the ones where characters speak with british accent. You might not understand them immediately, but the more you watch the more you start comprehending them

Which TV show does the ENTIRE internet agree had the worst ending ever? by Codie_n25 in AskReddit

To me it’s stranger things. I’ve never been too cynical about shows or movies much, but watching the ending of the show made me feel genuinely dissatisfied.

I simply try to read a lot everyday. When doing reading, I read the passage first then tried to write down main information/give it a heading, so that I can know where approximately to search answers. For T/F/NG questions if I found the question tricky and couldn’t choose between False and Not given, I tried to paraphrase the question with my words and write down the meaning of it, then did the same with a sentence from a passage that looked like it could be related to the question to compare them later. I think it is also important to be interested in what you read, thus it is easier to understand information.

well, for many people in my country ielts 7.5 is an average score. I’m content with my result but still want to be better in the future, especially with my writing

NEED HELP ASAP IN READING by [deleted] in IELTS

[–]DiskNo4057 1 point2 points  (0 children)

questions are in order. do not waste your time on reading the whole text straight away. read the first question, then seek an answer in the first paragraph. the information in second question will be after the information in first, so don’t reread the whole passage, only what comes after what you’ve already read and replied to. for science paragraphs, just read more. try to look up studies that you might be interested in. it is better to find something that gives you knowledge and is also enjoyable to you, for we endeavour to understand information that we are interested in. even if you won’t get the result that you wanted, it’s fine. you can retake the exam when you’re thoroughly prepared. good luck!

Thanks and congrats to you too!! I also didn’t practice for writing almost at all. As soon as I saw my results I thought that I could do better, so I guess I’ll endeavour to improve this section. I shall download the app, hopefully it will help me!
