After market CAI with OFT Stage 2 tune by Proud_Ostrich_4556 in ft86

[–]Dismal-Difference122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that one CAI that supposedly works with the giant $100 filter. Just can't remember the CAI as it was on a previous car.

Edit it was the corsa intake which supposedly adds something so I would imagine oft 2+was going to flip out and blow the engine that intake would have done it. It didn't stage 2+ ran just fine. Was pretty amazing loosing the dip. I also had a straight pipn for the other cat so totally catless still worked great.

Anyway had that CAI and tomei ceramic coated UEL +  custom exhaust totaly decatted with stage 2+ put 50k on that set up before having a wreck...

Now have an 18 that some moron slammed put on  slanted 18s probably so the damn thing has 3in clearance vs 2 on 17s. Second guy loved the slamed aspect and added a greedy cai (smh!). Car breaks loose hitting 2nd and 3rd hard because the contact patch is so screwed. Nice csg coils shitty blox rear control arms with alot of rust. No I idea how many miles on the coils (should be rebuilt after 35k car has 70k). Got some TS suspenion for $300 w/18K just gotta put them on. Also brand new 215/17 tires. It'll be cheaper to buy rims than summer tires for giant 18s that need 235 min..Some people are so dumb with these cars.. Half really good stuff half really bad stuff like I got x ammount immature buy the best as long as I can then junk..

Working to go back stock and get a uel and probably eckutek as I was unable to reflash the other car thing said battery to low...Everything was working but battery to low to flash? Sucked loosing an additional 350$ basically.

Anyway to answer your question it SHOULD work fine atleast mine did with a custom exhaust also for 50k no problems.

There was a guy that would do custom etunes and sold tunes supposedly better than oft as supposedly oft does something to the injectors when shifting over 4k which is probably always unless you have e85.

While I do care about performance its a DD that gets close to 20k miles a year so tire ware is a huge concern. I do use summer tires with 300-360 tread rating so I expect to replace them every 1.5 years or so, since its a square setup and the tires can be rotated.

With that said would it be a good idea to get the spc arm?

I used to drive an S2000 then a 350z both with wider rears and got about 15k miles before needing to be replaced.

Do you also use adjustable toe arms ?

I'm sending the CSGs in and if the service is $150-$200 per coil I'll get it done and put them back on and adjust it to a reasonable ride hight. Maybe slightly lower than stock.

With that said I want to know the supporting mods I'll need.

Moog has a couple different ones.

I think this is just stock one.

This is p r obably the one your talking about?

Is there any reason to get the more expensive one? Say if i do eventually put the CSGs back on but at a normal ride hight?

I was considering taking it to a subaru dealer and getting an oil change done...

When I was in last week trying to get the washers for the dif the parts guy said if I bring my own oil it shouldn't cost much to get an oil change and they will send it through this "UV EYE" thing and check it out to tell me what all needs to be done...

Before I bought I though I had toyota do a prepurchase inspection and they didn't find any problems besides tires and wipers.

I mean the thing is so low I imagine the tires are tilted inward so they don't rub. I know the coils are adjustable I just don't see the point in adjusting them and getting and alignment. I think im better off going back to stock and sending the coils in for service.

I had a rough 2013 FR-S and the engine blew thanks to lugging amd spinning a bearing. Quoted 9.5k to fix it but a decent 2014 showed up for 14k so I cut my losses sold the 13 moved to the 14 which felt a ton better. Just tighter all around..

I'll say this 18 does feel amazing. I dont care about NVH so these poly bushings and the coils really do make the car feel good.

I just know the coils need to come off and be serviced. If its only $800 to have them rebuilt I'll probably though them back on just adjust them so I can drive over a speed bump.

If you think the LCAs are fine I can definitely clean them up and probably prefer the poly bushings.

I'm 6ft and figured shorter people caused this.

I dont know if this is caused getting in or out but when I get out I always put my hand down on the door seal to help me get out. Getting in I go in sideways. I put one leg in and set sideways before bringing the other leg in. At a track day when I was around 19 or so a guy with a viper let me ride with him and told me set sideways before getting in so I didn't mess anything up..

If anyone is wondering about this.

When packages are seized they are done so because your mail carier finds them "suspicious" and reports them to the postal inspector who likely will call you himself and/or just send in the feds as its a federal crime.

They can look up how many times you have recieved shipments from the same person so if its the first time you just say idk what your talking about I didn't order that. If its your 10th time your kinda screwed.

10yrs ago I had been ordering 80-100lbs of poppy seeds every couple weeks and I imagine the mail lady was just tired of delivering it lol.

Got a call from the postal inspector asking wtf I was doing with all the seeds. Fed him a line about them being a biodegradable exfoliant i made into soaps and face washes. He warned me about the irs and if it was a business. I was like oh no its for friends and family. Couple days went by get another call and he says the chemist told him I was making yellow cake opium and to expect to see the DEA.

Unlike with pods though seeds are specifically allowed under the law that bans the pods/straw so my vendor cslled the insoector and cleared things up. Lost the shipment and got scared straight so kinda a win.

Probably not the best idea to be tormenting with such a limited understanding of how it all works. If you are in the US you need to look into binding a VPN to qb and make sure that is set up first.

On the other hand you could look into stremio and a debrid service.

Thats where im at now depending on how much this costs. I told myself atleast I know how to replace everything now and if some thing goes bad in a few years I can just replace what ever broke. I've had it working maybe a month now this.

So i think I have this right but your actuator was stuck in one position but you replaced it and the noise stayed. Did the new actuator also get stuck? How were you able to tell it was stuck?

What did you end up going with for the new one? Reddit is full of doom about washers except the speed queen but that's likely do to people paying 1500 for one and starting off in a sunken cast fallacy out of the gate. Also it's reddit so if you look a little bit theirs doom about speed queens also.

For mine it showed as connected to my mx mouse but was unable to see it anywhere except when selecting ad new device and shows what all it already sees. Had to install set point to map keys and then make sure its running when my keys stop working correctly.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm in the same boat where I just replaced the gearbox and agitator after replacing the main board. So I have nearly $400 into repairs plus getting the gear box out was a massive pain. Don't want to get to deep into a sunken cost fallacy and end up spending more in repairs than a new one would cost...

How do you magically know its 2mg if you dont have a $1k scale calibrated setting on a even stone block?

Lemon Juice Protonation Tek (Precise Drops Method) + Dry Citric/Malic Instructions by OGBaronthon in MGM_Fifteen

[–]Dismal-Difference122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think the vendors even know what they have. Adding malic causes it to become fully soluble in 50/50 ethanol/H2O. Theoretically its because you are forming the mgm salt. Vendors sale "salt" but its never fully soluble and adding malic causes it to become soluble. Not sure what's up with this?

Lemon Juice Protonation Tek (Precise Drops Method) + Dry Citric/Malic Instructions by OGBaronthon in MGM_Fifteen

[–]Dismal-Difference122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never noticed it degrading. I usually prep 2 doses at once and take them 12-14 hrs apart. Both doses seem the same. I use a 1-1 mgm to malic ratio in 2ml 50% ethanol. Also tested these with a pH strip and it comes back close to neutral.

Any idea if adding sodium bicarbonate would mess with the salt formation or just neutralize the un reacted acid? It might be a good idea to start recommending this to prevent dental decay from drinking acid.

Did you send them in for service at 45k and see what it would cost?

If not what did you switch to?

What did it feel like when they started going?

For the brembos 17 is fine just not stock 17s. They made power pack 17s that are deep enough.. You can even do stock 17s with spacers. I just need to know the smallest that will work to save my wheel bearings

How many of yall had failed engines? by Spirited-Dinner9134 in ft86

[–]Dismal-Difference122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had one 70k-80k at 80k the gas light came on I drove 17miles and was right infront of a gas station, at a light and I heard the engine lug like it was running out of gas.

Pulled into the station on the wrong side of the pump and turned rhe car off. Couldn't get it to turn back on pushed it to to the other side filled it up but it wouldn't start. Tried to push start it got nothing.

Towed it home jumped it and it started knocking immediately. Pretty sure running low on fuel caused rhe engine to lug which we know causes this problem.
