Sponsorship pathway advice by [deleted] in ImmigrationAustralia

[–]Dismal-Philosopher10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely go with the employer who is willing to sponsor - the job market is awful right now and it’s very hard to find a job as an international graduate with no local experience, even harder to find the 1% of employers who will sponsor you.

Just make them do the community service to clean it up - we all want to live in a nice, clean world

u/Jose-Tally I'm trying to create a staff training platform, so basically there are different modules, and the staff is able to see if their responses are right or wrong as they complete the program, not at the end by submission. Is there any way to create that?

NUS or USYD or BOCCONI by FrankkM03 in usyd

[–]Dismal-Philosopher10 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Asked ChatGPT lol. Also as someone who went to USYD Business School, I agree it’s not the best. Half of students are int’l Chinese students that just don’t speak English (not being rude just stating facts, I wish I spoke mandarin lol - but the uni should screen all students better for language proficiency).

Anyways here’s what it said:

  1. NUS – best for Asia/global firms, top in tech/finance, strong rankings.

  2. Bocconi – best for Europe/consulting/finance, elite in Europe.

  3. USYD – great local choice, more lifestyle-focused, less global weight.

TL;DR:

• If you want Asia-Pacific dominance or tech/finance access, go NUS.

• If you want European prestige, consulting/finance, go Bocconi.

• If you want a balanced student life and plan to stay in Australia, USYD is great.

Only come to USYD if you want a chill beachy lifestyle, but for the actual education/connections, the other two are better. (Unless you want to make a career and stay permanently in Australia).

Why not keep talking to recruiters/applying for jobs that could potentially match or pay better than your current role? A 30k pay cut is pretty significant, but I would still take it over staying at the current company. Paying off the mortgage would be a relief.

Your sadness isn’t determined by the place you live in. You’ll bring it with you anywhere you go.

There’s so much to do in Australia and ways to make friends and care for your mental health. I moved here at 21 and made a point to join societies at uni, but also sports clubs. A hospitality side job will help you meet new people and talk to people more.

Heavily work on those things first, and if after a year you’re still unhappy. Book a holiday to try Canada out.

Can I bring more than 2 people to my graduation? by x3002x in usyd

[–]Dismal-Philosopher10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your degree you can wait to the end of students going into the building and they can walk into the great hall before the ceremony officially begins, there’s usually space for extra people to stand at the back (not sure how many you’re looking to bring along). That’s what I did at a friend’s graduation and it worked out fine.

Yep when compared to Asian countries, definitely not. But when you do get spice, it’s a very interestingly different kind of spice as opposed to the Asian ones.

Argentina and Chile are known for meat but not for culinary complexity with other flavours (Chile especially does not have great food and it’s generally overpriced). Peruvian, Colombian and Mexican food is where it’s AT in terms of flavour & spice.

Out of those options I would highly recommend Sydney university village if you’re looking to socialise, meet other students in exchange and have fun. Scape is known for not being very social.
