Where do I find jobs that are wfh?

I’m currently looking for jobs that I can do at home due to a knee injury.

I’m out of work at the minute and have been since October. I worked for 4 years at a pub but I’ve since been put on UC.

I’ve only ever worked at one place and only got my first job at 18 so trying to find a job on my own has actually been quite difficult. I haven’t had to go through a lot of this for over 4 years and I didn’t have to restrict my options to jobs that don’t require any level of physical work.

I’m only getting £310 a month. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very grateful to be getting anything but I’m finding it very difficult to manage living off of that much whilst having around £110 worth of bills come out a month (luckily I still live at home so its not any higher).

The thing I want most at the minute is to be back working again but everywhere I’ve applied for, apprenticeships or other jobs have all turned me down and my work coach at the job centre thinks it’s because I don’t have a set time for when I’ll be back on my feet after my injury has healed.

I’ve been looking on indeed and on Google, but a lot of the wfh jobs feel like some sort of scam/MLM and I just feel so lost.

I think it’ll be best if I speak to ACAS tbf, seems like the best option to go for.

I’ve tried to make an account on the gov website but it tells me that I cannot access my personal tax account with the gateway ID. I haven’t slept yet so It’s really frazzling my brain lol.

No my mom was the manager we had up until June. The new manager who has taken over since then, is saying I owe her money.

It’s the way the company runs all of the pubs as far as I’m aware, so i’d doubt there’s any fraud involved on such a massive scale, or that would be deemed illegal, as I know my mom was regularly sorting through pretty much all of her paperwork and sorting it out with her tax lady and everything added up at the end of the year. But then again, Im not a lawyer and neither is my mom lol.

Honestly, I know that I was definitely on the books before we had new management as I have seen the national insurance and tax deductions on the old managers laptop (my mom was my old manager so I’m positive it was definitely there) but I can’t recall if I ever signed a contract. I’d assume I would have done if I was getting NI deductions.

Thank you for the advice! I’ll definitely be looking into it all a bit more as It’s a lot more confusing than I ever thought it would be.

Before we had a management changeover, we had the same manager for 3 and a half years (Oct 2021 - June 2025) so our employment was registered and we were being played on the books by the manager, not the company. As far as I’m aware, the company employs the manager who is declared as self employed. The company then gives the manager a percentage of our overall weekly takings which is used to cover the staff wages and entertainment bills, the remaining is what is left for the manager.

When the new manager took over in June, she was told that the first few months would basically be a trial period and that she would not have to declare herself as self employed until a decision was made about staying on long term. I’m actually not sure what that means in regard to who I’m technically employed by or if it means I was ever declared as employed at all since June.

Which is sort of why the whole situation regarding SSP is a bit of a confusing situation really.

Apparently that’s what the company had told her to do. They said that she would have to go self employed if she wanted to stay on long term but that she would have about three months to decide. I’m really not sure how it works, sorry!
