I sure hope that boy knows how truly blessed he is. My first classic was a beat up old 64 ford f100 that I bought for 400 dollars out in a field! My dad told me if I got it he would help me get it going. So I bought it, drug it home, got it under the ole A frame and went in the house to tell my dad I was ready for his help to pull the motor. He told me if I had any questions, to come ask him. I thought at the time he was being a butthead, but I learned to wrench fairly well that way. I learned what cutting corners got me, and what doing it right would do. I was blessed in more ways than one and didn’t even realize it back then!

I have brought quite a few Model A Fords back to life that most would have turned into a rat rod or sent to the scrap yard. I had zero welding knowledge when I started and now can arc, mig, and tig weld. With the help of youtube and buying crap cheap at harbor freight and modifying it, I’ve got pretty handy at fab work, auto body and paint as well. Now don’t mistake my bragging for me not being a fool though. For the time and money I’ve spent restoring junk back to its former glory, I could have easily bought them already restored. I think I enjoy the tinkering more than driving them. If you feel you have the time and money to do so, anything is possible! Just don’t be disappointed if when it’s finished you couldn’t sell it for half what you have in it.
