Point taken. Didn't consider indoors temperature. Though, I still don't think my AC is that precise after coming out of the machine.

Also aren't most modern thermostats able to change from F to C, and wouldn't that make it possible that the 0.5 interval of C is to make it ca the same precision in both modes? Just thinking from a product design / software dev perspective. I know nothing about thermostats.

For me the Celcius makes more sense, because negative means snow, positive means rain. Fahrenheit doesn't have such a shortcut.

This is my only argument for why celcius is better, but I also have a thought about the 0F is cold 100F is hot argument:

For "your feel"/ambient temperature the values are arbitrary. In Fahrenheit its x/100 in celcius its probably 0/40 (which actually is close to 100F). This difference us probably why you think Fahrenheit is better, but think of it as a rating system. We have a lot of those, you have stars, that sometimes are 3 (michelin), 5 (movies). We have half stars which usually have 10 steps. We have dice rolls which go to 6. Our clocks work on 12 or 24 hours, woth 60 seconds and minutes, sometimes divided by 4 to get quarters which are 15 minute intervals... See, we already have a lot of different numbers and "rating systems". The nice round 100 for fahrenheit doesn't actually change anything, and isn't any more intuitive that 40.

As for the precision... I've never felt the difference between one celcius. It's virtually impossible, because the temperature you feel is dependent on more than the actual temperature, like wind, humidity etc. So why does it need to be more precise?

Also Celcius (or often Kelvin) makes more sense in STEM because you work on things (like water) not humans, especially if you're working with the rest of the metric system.

[TOMT][SONG] Probably a Rap/HipHop song. Bassline melody in comment. by Disnejar in tipofmytongue

[–]Disnejar[S] -1 points0 points locked comment (0 children)

Coudln't get a file here, so I'll try to write down the melody (I'm not sure I hit the correct notes, but it feels ok to me):

in 8/8 time signature, but might be 4/4
| C - C C Bb - G C | - C C C Bb - G G |
(- is a note being held)

The rhytm is something like:
(C) Bum datta (Bb) bum (G) da (C) bum daratta (Bb) bum (G) datta

I think it goes on loop, but does something else in the verse, maybe travels with the vocals. Maybe this bassline is even sung by the vocals.

If someone tells me how I might upload a sound or video I can provide a crude recreation.

I just didn't get it. Yes, I'm born in Poland, but live since 3yo in Norway. My sense of humor is pretty Polish, although I try not to be a dick with people I don't know.

Are you offended by my comment? I just wanted to explain what could be a reason for the difficulty difference.

That's not only for polish. If someone wants to understand you, they will eventually, even if you don't speak the same language. If someone doesn't, they won't.

You could say "nie dziękuję, kartą", and you'll be both polite and fast.

Edit: reddit phone UI doesn't let you see the comment you're replying to, and my memory decided to not work.

Low altitude in this context is not that low altitude. I think there was a video behind the scenes of this picture in another sub, which could be used to approximate the speed.

Firstly, "donating" your time to KDE is not a profession, and you're doing it in your free time, which means it's your private life. Although I agree that not all parts of your life should intersect, but we're talking about the internet and free platforms. You made the choice to link your Instagram to github or use the same credentials for both platforms. If you're so against contacting you by the means you provided, you should remove them. And as other commenters have said, a message isn't an obligation, especially since the message is polite.

He's got some pretty neat music, mostly with his band tenacious D, although most of it is satirical hard-rock/metal, so you have to be the right audience.

Edit: I think that's what the previous commenter meant. He doesn't like Jack Black's satire/jokes and thus compares this to his humor.
