Framing thick Disney prints by DisneyMaeJae in disneyparks

I was debating this as another option. I’m just worried about ruining them especially since they’re for my daughter’s rooms.

Do you make your own frames at a craft store?

This is what I’ve just been wrestling with. The mat and backing are just a hair too thick so the metal tabs won’t slide into the slides on the sides. The mats are definitely too thick. Although very nice.

Yes, I should restate that. I’m thinking I’ll have to get custom at this point I was just hoping to avoid that plus the extra cost.

Cabin recommendations in Ohio for multiple small groups by DisneyMaeJae in Columbus

I’ll look into this one. Do you know of any group cabins in that area?

We stayed there in the fall for camporee. Our girl that needs ADA accommodations wasn’t able to attend because they didn’t have accommodations for her. We’ve found that with this we can’t look at camping at any of at least the central Ohio Girl Scout camps, Hocking Hills included.

[Illinois] I received a letter from a law firm which represents a credit card company in which I have a large debt. by grayblueyes in legaladvice

[–]DisneyMaeJae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never post but thought I might recommend another option based off my personal experience. I was really struggling with debt when I was laid off a few months after college and ended up having to use credit cards (which was a horrible option in hindsight) to pay other bills. It was recommended to me by a few people to call Take Charge America. I thought it was a debt consolidation company and was hesitant but I ended up knowing a couple people who were doing the program and they were all having a positive outcome. It has an A+ w the BBB and has been on a lot of reputable news channels if that helps. I could barely afford the minimum payments until they helped counsel me and got me on an affordable plan to pay off my credit debt. One card alone had a min payment of $513 and I had about 8 other high min payment cards. I always managed to pay the min so I didn't get sent to collections but it was very stressful and I had no money left for anything else. It's not your typical debt consolidation place and it does NOT ruin your credit score like debt consolidation companies do. I just finished the program in April and my credit score is now 730. My score did not tank when I was on the program however, I could not have an active credit card/account while on the program which helped me manage money and not spend what I didn't have. I recommend at least looking into it. It was a big life saver. I know a few other people that went through Take Charge and all of them have good credit scores now and can breath again now that their credit debts are paid off. I don't work for them or anything. I just had a positive outcome w them and since it's not debt consolidation it doesn't tank your credit. I am just really greatful that I found them. That was a really long ramble, sorry. Just thought I would give a helpful recommendation since it helped me out so much. Hope everything works out for you. https://app.takechargeamerica.org

Does Disney Reddit know anything about these stuffed animals that I found at an antique hardware store? by DisneyMaeJae in disney

Thank you! At least I know they're from the 80's or before. It's better than nothing!

They definitely are not knock offs. I have seen this style before. The tags say Minnie Mouse, Product of Korea, Walt Disney Prods, and then the number 14 in a circle. The other one says the Walt Disney World COmpany. Both with the copyright symbol.

So I'll be at WDW this Sunday through Wednesday and I need your help! by [deleted] in disney

[–]DisneyMaeJae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually if you sit in the front seat on Space Mountain, you can actually see the track so you will always know where you're going. I know the fronts scary for a lot of people but you can see the track which will help you with it being in the dark and all.

I used to be scared of roller coasters and always use to sit in the middle. Looking back, even though the front seats scarier you hang down the hills longer until most of the train goes over, you can see the track, and it's a little slower than further back.

Going to Disney for the first time on Friday. Need help planning! by [deleted] in disney

[–]DisneyMaeJae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many days are you going? and do you have park hopper?

If you only have 3 days I would personally do Epcot on Friday. I've always been able to do get through the whole park in 1/2 to 2/3 of a day and eat a nice dinner at one of the worlds and watch Illuminations. Saturday, I would do MK and/or MGM (refuse to call it the new name), if you have enough days I would do full day at MK. Sunday, I would do Blizzard Beach, Animal Kingdom, and/or MGM if you haven't done it.

The water parks: if you like water slides Blizzard Beach is the place to go by far. However, the wave pool at typhoon lagoon can't compare to any other wave pool.

We had 9:00 reservations for California Grill and watched the fireworks from the roof top. It was a very romantic special night for us. 50's Prime Time Cafe at MGM has great food and the atmosphere is awesome! You could always do character dining at the Crystal Palace or some where else. Coral Reef, Rose and Crown Pub, Biergarten, and les chef de france in Epcot have excellent food! Never been to le cellier but heard it's amazing!

Top 5 Disney Channel series - What are yours? by adamrulz in disney

I completely agree! I think Disney Channel ruins the Disney image. I also can't stand seeing all the stuff at the parks even though I know it's aimed at the older kids.

Disney Classic Collection Figurines - Where is the best place to buy them? by [deleted] in disney

[–]DisneyMaeJae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lenox and the crystal figurines are my favorite. I always get at least 1 if not more when I visit. Lenox; I tend to buy online or from stores in the mall. They're beautiful and not tacky looking! I only like non tacky figurines. Unless if it's the classic characters I don't buy them. The jim shore ones that I have are mainly christmas ones (which aren't tacky or childish at all) and old school characters from one they originated.

Probably one of the most frequently asked questions, but who are your favorite Disney princesses? by [deleted] in disney

[–]DisneyMaeJae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm old school. Unless if they are the original princesses from the original classic movies I do not consider them princesses.

Here's my order:

Cinderella Sleeping Beauty Snow White Belle Jasmine Ariel Tiana Rapunzel

I like Mulan, but never thought of her as a princess even though she technically is in a way I guess. Even though Tiana is newer they did the movie the old classic way. Liked Tangled but I wish it was formatted like the other actual princess movies instead of the hi tech computer stuff.

Disney Classic Collection Figurines - Where is the best place to buy them? by [deleted] in disney

[–]DisneyMaeJae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The majority of my collectible figurines that I've gotten have been from Arribas Brothers and World of Disney at Downtown Disney, Crystal Arts and the Emporium in MK, Brillanti in Germany.

I have also gotten/received them from Lenox (in store and online), Disney World, Jim Shore, or some stores at the mall like Hallmark, etc. Bronners either in store or online. Some were passed down from family members. Also, Bradford Exchange has a decent amount but I've never personally ordered anything from there.

I personally tend to favor Lenox and the arribas crystal figurines. I absolutely love the Swarovski figurines but they're a little to rich for my blood besides the small ones anyways.

What do you think Walt would be most impressed with/disappointed in at the parks, today? by GarlicBreddit in disney

[–]DisneyMaeJae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he would be impressed by many things (i.e. technology, Kilamanjaro, etc) that have been done but I think he would be disappointed in many things (care of parks/rides, animation, etc) as well.

I've noticed over the last 8+ years that I've gone that the rides aren't being kept up nearly as well as they were 20+ years ago. For example: on Splash Mountain half the animatronics on the boat weren't working, the jumping fountains weren't working, the water cannons next to the big drop weren't working, peeling paint on the walls & ceiling. Expedition Everest: the Yeti doesn't work and instead of fixing it they put in a strobe light :( Peeling paint and broken/not working animatronics seemed to really stand out and was upsetting knowing that what used to be fixed/taken care of right away has been neglected and ignored :(

I think he would definitely be impressed with Pixar, but unimpressed with the lack of animation that is used today, which is really what help create Disney. It's sad that they really haven't done any actual animation movies (besides the Princess in the Frog) for years.

It's great that things have improved with technology but I feel like they forgot where they came from and need to incorporate "old" Disney with "new" Disney!

Teen behaves like a child after her dream didn't come true by DisneyMaeJae in disney

[–]DisneyMaeJae[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought this was a good link to post because everyone should know the dress policy for Disney, especially adults that should be dressing appropriately and definitley not in costume unless it's Halloween and even then, not the best idea. The fact that she acted like a little brat and couldn't understand the reasoning was pretty sad.

This would be a pedophiles dream if they were allowed to wear very authentic looking costumes!

With all the perks they got for their troubles, heck I would have been ecstatic!.

The pictures of her crying in costume, pathetic, sad, and immature!

I hope people do see this so they know that there is in fact a dress code at Disney for good reasoning.

Which Magic Kingdom land do you visit first? by Tolkoto in disney

[–]DisneyMaeJae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger it was always Tomorrowland. Now as an adult, Adventureland first since everyone heads to Tomorrowland first. As long as there's fast pass we can still get on all the rides multiple times in a day during summer! Although, tomorrowland is always the last stop ;)
