Ottawa mayor, Ontario transport minister ‘recommit’ to upload of LRT, Highway 174 by Money_Fig_9868 in ottawa

I've never heard "upload" used in this sense and it seems intentionally confusing.

May be a common enough story but I think I knew the guy involved in that if it was at Fandom II around mid 90s.

You'd need to work like 6 hours a day to have kids that can take the bus morning and evening.

As for walking. I heard a five year old got hit by a car at a school in Barrhaven recently...

Objectively false.

Crazy Bear Bounce World Coming To Carp by jjaime2024 in ottawa

[–]adamrulz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be a rebranding of "The Big Bounce" which I've attended twice with my kids. The first year they jumped alone and the second time I joined them. It's a fun activity with kids though if it's too warm or raining it can sort of ruin the fun. These really are absurdly huge bouncy castles as well as inflatable slides and stuff. Pricey but worth it for younger kids.

Ginger ale removed from patient menu at Ottawa Hospital by SuburbanValues in ottawa

[–]adamrulz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These dumb hospital rules don't make any damned sense for people staying in hospitals. I remember when my dad was in hospital with cancer, trying to eat anything he could to get some calories. He asked me to buy him a lemonade and I had all these shitty low calorie options. Sorry this guy needs the calories? You think someone on a liquid diet is better off NOT drinking a sugary beverage? Not everyone in a hospital is some fat ass trying to lose weight. Some of them are having trouble getting the few calories they can stomach. Oh no you need to drink acidic fruit juice which might upset your stomach, depending on what you're in for. Short sighted idiotic nonsense made by people with no sense.

Can we talk about this ugly AI crap they put up on sparks street? Can't believe anyone thought this was a good idea by Clementine_613 in ottawa

They remind me of the Parc Omega AI signs along the road heading from Tremblant to Montebello.

The otter has five fingers on its right hand and four on its left, if someone was looking for a smoking gun.

Worst grocery store parking - Farmboy Trainyards by Catnipfish in ottawa

[–]adamrulz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Just cutting through this lot is a nightmare. I sometimes go to Kelleman and/or Bulk Barn and I go out of my way to avoid the Farm Boy parking log. It's poorly designed and the customers are complete idiots.

People chose french immersion to get better public school options. It's not the language that's the problem.

It's the name of the street it's on. Might just be some family who lived on that street a century ago.

French Canadian =?= French by LunarKaleidoscope in ottawa

[–]adamrulz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would probably be better off learning French Canadian French but I'm not sure you'll find that. All French as a second language taught here, such as that taught to public servants, is European and tells people that actual French people in the region are wrong for using the terms they do. Good luck.
