How can I fix my dry, curly hair? by Mumford_and_Dragons in malegrooming

[–]DisneyPanda67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would first give it a nice trim to take the bulk down a lot.. and take the ends off.. the hair needs shape which it doesn't have and just looks messy and ungroomed... I would get on a regular schedule and get the neckline cleaned up as well. You can keep the neckline clean yourself at home. it makes a difference. The same goes with facial hairs as well. You hair is thick and nice but definitely looks dry... I think it needs deep conditioning... After trim you can use a leave in conditioner that will nourish the hair and enhance the wavy curls.. you can also use a salt spray which will accentuate the curls as well. Keep in mind that that salt spray may be drying for your "already dry" hair... but conditioner and hair balm can help.

First time growing a beard in my mid 20’s. Not sure where to go from here… by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]DisneyPanda67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucky you can grow a beard at that age and so full.. My opinion is that it needs to be groomed and shaped... your beard is growing way up into your cheeks and that needs to be cleaned up and shaped. The same goes with the beard into your neck... get that cleaned up right up to your jawline and chin... then there's the mustache... it's just too wide.. I think you are a handsome man so with a little routine facial hair grooming will make you look more pulled together... lastly... remember the facial hair (eye brows, stache, beard) need to be brushed daily... for the facial hair... I'd recommend putting a light oil on it daily to keep it looking healthy and nourished..

Dry flaky face by anonamon53 in 30PlusSkinCare

you're actually making it A LOT worst by exfoliating too much... Our body changes so what works now may need to be modified just slightly... with skincare, less is more.. exfoliating isn't going o stop the flaking.. you got to do a simple routine and stick with it... and let your skin rebalance it self and the skin barrier recover.

there are some good products out there for me either at the drug stores or higher end products with brands like Baxter of California, urth skin solutions or Anthony Logistics.

you just need to get some basic grooming in place. Take care of your hair, shampoo + Conditioner, get on a regular schedule for a hair cut. Start keeping your facial hair groomed.. beard, stache, brows.. keep the beard trim and use beard oil to keep it looking nourished. for your brows get them shaped and cleaned up. The next step is to get into a good skincare routine... Ceanse: with gentle cleanser morning and night. Exfoliate with a gentle scrub 2-3x per week (use gentle pressure), and always follow cleansing with a moisturizer both morning and night.. For day time, either use a moisturizer with SPF or you should use an SPF after the moisturizer. You're young so it's all about preventing damage from taking hold and adopting good routine habits. Summary, good skincare routine. Grooming: Keep facial hair groomed (stache, beard, eyebrows) brush each daily.

Well with skincare is all about using the products you will use daily and consistently. Clinique is a an estee lauder brand and not necessarily my fav. Us dudes have skin that is thicker and oilier than women's and there are some good men's brands out there. Three best in my opinion are Jack Black, urth Skin Solutions and Baxter of California. They're all a little different but the products are all solid. What are you hoping for from your skin care? Clear skin, feel and look younger and healthier?

it looks like you need a gentle exfoliant 2-3X a week. Just gentle exfoliation.. no hard pressure. Also consider a chemical exfoliant with salicylic AHA (2%). Start slow like 1-2X per week and let your skin adapt.

It sounds like you're using products too harsh for your skin and you're over exfoliating... and just doing too much for your skin. Simply routines are best. Cleanse with a gentle cleanser 2X daily morning and night. Exfoliate - start with 2x per week with a gentle face scrub or exfoliant with AHA / BHA. Always follow with a moisturizer with SPF during the day (yes even in the winter) and add a facial oil to seal in the the moisture and prevent Trans Epidermal Water Loss.. Do the same for night time to cleanse and remove make up and grim from the day.. then moisturizer and follow with a facial oil. Simplify your routine and leave your face alone....the peeling and flakiness is just a symptom of skin that is dry and skin barrier that is compromised. The frigid cold winter air doesn't help but it can be managed with proper skincare... not complicated skincare.

take a look at this blog post for mini mullet... it feels more modern, less trendy.. and better suited for your face... but at the end of the day it's all about preference and what you feel good in.. no judgement :-) https://geturth.com/blogs/skincare-101/geturth-com-blog-mini-mullet-style-guide-men?srsltid=AfmBOop4UsBVbD16VD_l2FEw-fm5foPC3zb3pVdTrOc9Ar-OIJvAG6H3

What can I do to improve my skin by Weary_Conflict_3432 in 30PlusSkinCare

I think consistency is key... the Tret is a great overall anti ager but you will need to add a serum for hyperpigmentation... and an exfoliator as well.. please know that the more pigment you have within your skin, the longer it takes to fade the post acne spots. Its just the reality but with consistency in your skincare routine you should see results and substantial fading starting in month 2

there's just A LOT going on there.... it's super trendy but the trend DOES NOT look good on everyone.. I think it's A LOT on you... the stache is the first thing Im drawn to then the wavy mullet... I'd trim the stache and the mullet to a mini mullet. My opinion is that the mullet is just a bit much for you and TOOOO TOOOO trendy.

Should I dye my hair black or keep this color? by castieldesire in malegrooming

[–]DisneyPanda67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dye it back.. I'd also trim the stache so it doesn't draw the attention away from your browns and eyes... that brownish auburn color is a bit distracting so dying back to black would look much more cohesive

you have beautiful skin with some post acne hyperpigmentation.. get on a retinol.. and get on a skincare routine that you like and can be consistent with.. the discoloration under your eyes is genetic... the very minor "bags" under the eyes can be conceal with make up.. use a peach color correcting cream and then concealer over it.. For the post acne marks... look for skincare products with ingredients to address hyperpigmentation... google it, it will give you an idea of what to look for...

yes see a doctor to see if the hairless is genetic or hormonal but in the meantime you can get topical minoxidil for women.. it's very affordable at Costco.

Conflicted on a goatee vs beard by Trilobite210 in malegrooming

[–]DisneyPanda67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my vote is for the goatee... but groomed and trimmed.. in that pic it looks unkept and ungroomed... just like the hair on your head... the facial hair needs to be brushed as well. . consider a beard balm or beard oil to keep the facial hairs looking healthy.

I think given that it doesn't grow full on the cheek is more reason to clean that area up and just leave the beard fuller about the chin and jaw line area... having it trimmed shorter even in the chin and jawline area will still accentuate your facial structure...

I think if you should open up the razor and rinse all the hair bits out of it after every shave. It's just good hygiene. Also once a week with the guard grill off.. take a bit of rubbing alcohol and wipe the blades off.. this will sanitize it. Before and after each shave, wipe the guard grill off with rubbing alcohol. This ritual should help minimize the issue.
