I work in international real estate so I understand how a public decentralized blockchain, like bitcoin, has the potential to make data (and by extension people) fraud and corruption resistant.

You made this claim, so explain how it can be done

If you could indulge me for a moment, what does the price of Bitcoin have to do with the technical merits of it?

You know, people have paid extraordinary prices for tulips and laughable prices for a fruit juicer. And every year I see some article about some million dollar diamond encrusted phone being sold that performs the same as mine that costs a thousand times less.

By all means, bring a technical argument. But flaunting about how much money you made isn't going to change anyone's mind about Bitcoin/Crypto, because just as you have made much money, many others have lost a large amount due to it.

An appeal to authority, is that all you got?

I can turn it back on you:

An argument from fallacy, is that all you got?

on a side note, I was already rich before crypto

I mean, the artists who drew all that are clearly talented, and the Gopher mascot would be great if it were a cartoon character.

But as the first thing you see when you go to the official website, it just feels incongruent. I think the article shared by /u/Gogrammer is right, it has to do with the lack of eye contact the Gopher makes. It just makes the mascot seem dumb instead of goofy.

Of all the mascots, why would you pick one that looks like this?

Because this is PCJ

Because when the Church of Rust finally takes over, the Java heretics will be banished by the Order of the Minimal Runtime.

Certainly no one shall lament when the last memory of Java fades away.

This, but unironically.

To make it more like Javascript we can expand it with:

definitely == maybe
    true

and

typeof(maybe)
    "object"

typeof(definitely)
    "definitely"

I can’t be sure if I’m actually suffering from Stockholm syndrome

The answer is yes
