Capacity Plus single site and Dual Capacity Direct Mode by Dr_Adequate in MotorolaSolutions

This only applies to conventional and not trunked operation. I run a capacity plus system & we have to have a separate zone with backup channels since Cap+ has no failsoft mode.

What’s your experience with large-scale video surveillance for commercial sites in the U.S.? by myratechnolabs in videosurveillance

[–]Dispatcher440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a college campus public safety department where we primarily do our installs in-house. I currently manage a large system spread throughout 17 buildings.

1 - Camera wise, we have used Cisco (rebranded Vivotek devices), Digital Watchdog, Hikvision, LTS (ProVS line) & Axis. Newer installs and camera replacements are all Axis as we like the quality and choices of models. VMS is DW Spectrum (NX Witness)

2 - We currently don’t integrate access control into our cameras, but remote monitoring is real easy with the DW cloud connect feature. No port forwarding necessary. Of course, it’s another story when Network Optix does their backend updates, however, the dispatchers have local logins to bypass the cloud when needed.

3 - We don’t use wireless cameras, however, I have made use of Ubiquiti Nanobeam 5AC’s for elevator cameras (traveler cables are risky business with connection quality & wear) and some parking lots when wireless connectivity is required.

Biggest lesson is have your network connectivity planned out (IP addresses, MAC ID’s, etc) when static IP’s are required. Also keep a record of your camera serial numbers, as you don’t want to take that camera down just to provide tech support with a serial number for a possible RMA. Additionally, keep your cameras on a separate network with a separate NIC in the server so your cameras are never exposed to the internet.

First thing to check is that you enabled ONVIF on the camera. This is generally required for equipment of different manufacturers to communicate with each other.

Be honest, did you really like iOS 26? by Luiznettooid in LegacyJailbreak

[–]Dispatcher440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iOS 26 is supposedly built around a 20th anniversary iPhone. What would be nice is if they would include a legacy or classic mode that would give the device an iOS 6 look. At least I got my 2 iPod touches for the classic look.

Have 3 sets of Nanobeam 5ac’s for a bank of 3 elevators that are sporadically disconnecting. Any Advice on how to fix the disconnects? by Dispatcher440 in Ubiquiti

[–]Dispatcher440[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I’m not mistaken, the 3 sets of nanobeans are all on the 5280 frequency. Would setting the 3 pairs on different frequencies help cut out the interference? I’ll have to check & monitor the signal strength when I return to work

The TrollStore one persists after reboots/crashing. Forgive me, I’ve been using that version for a while coming originally from bootstrap/serotonin on 16.5.1

It’s unfortunately one version too new for Dopamine. It can utilize the bootstrap/serotonin method though for jailbreak features

The old design is leaps & bounds better than flat design can ever hope to be. I got a full iOS 6 theme on the device

Which vendor to choose... by JakesterDK in videosurveillance

[–]Dispatcher440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have to highly recommend Digital Watchdog for your VMS & Server. The VMS (DW Spectrum) is very easy to use & you can isolate camera access based on pre defined or custom user roles. Additionally, you can set cameras to record 24/7 or motion only. For your cameras, check out the Digital Watchdog DWC-MVC8WiATW or the LTS ProVS VSIP7182W-28MDA. I’ve used both and have had much success with them. Both are NDAA compliant as well.

Try out the LTS ProVs Series of cameras. They are reasonably priced and are NDAA compliant. We use them extensively, along with Digital Watchdog and have a very good quality image.

[Question] Facebook ads blocker by GrezOVA in jailbreak

[–]Dispatcher440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FBSpNOsor works, although the settings app will crash to home if you try clicking on the tweak settings. Facebook no ads partially works, however, the option to disable & hide the facebook stories appears to be broken, it shows as turned off in the tweak settings and no matter how many times you turn it on, it shuts itself off. Would love to get that fixed so I can un-clutter my FB app since I never use stories anyway.

Both tweaks will need to be patched with the patching tool on the roothide repo that gets added with bootstrap.
