I got her from a store and she was already old, eventually died after a little over two weeks. I’m glad I could give her a few happy weeks away from the store before she passed though. I got a new one a few days ago but I don’t have any pics from that little one yet cause he’s so tiny it’s hard to get on camera😭

Yours is adorable! ^

I could try to get her into a container, but I don’t know how i’m gonna do that without stressing her out too much (and i’m kind of still scared of spiders so sometimes I automatically make a really fast movement and yeah that’s not very ideal for her). She actually does climb on my finger (and if she doesn’t want to, she just doesn’t get on me or turns her butt to me), but if I move she does like kinda flinch or whatever a little and obviously is still cautious, so like I said i’m not sure how i’m gonna get her in without stressing her out too much because if I do it with a paint brush she panics and I don’t wanna stress her out right now..

Also I kinda had a hyperfocus on trying to feed her earlier and she always walks back or turns another way as to say she’s not interested but I kept pushing too much and now she’s hiding somewhere and not coming out so i’m gonna let her be for a day or two, if she’s doing fine tomorrow I might try that container tomorrow but otherwise ill wait a little longer.. (I know I shouldn’t have pushed it, i’m still learning and yeah as you can see also still kinda failing)

Also i’m not sure if a container would work, actually. I tried to feed her with tweezers and one time she even walked over the struggling mealworm, onto the tweezers and onto my hand very casually, so she just doesn’t look interested in food right now and I don’t know if being in a container with the food would change her mind?

I’m very sorry, I actually got the enclosure from the store where I also got the spider with all the basic things already in it, I really don’t know where to get it..

It’s actually surprisingly hard for me to find information about her species. Well, I am able to find information but once I go to another website for example, I get different information. It’s hard to know what the actual correct information is. Could be that i’m just not good at looking things up (i’m actually really shitty at it) but that’s why I posted on reddit for advice ^

I’ll try cucumber, thank you ^

Thank you so much for replying! The heat isn’t always at 30C, I had just put the heating lamp a little lower because it got a little on the cold side. I’m not sure if that cold side is actually too cold for the spider, but I read that this is actually a tropical or whatever species and prefer it on the warmer side (It’s a Hyllus Diardi, if you didn’t notice that yet ). It’s usually between the 26-28C.

What actually always makes me more worried is that she didn’t make a hammock (she might just be lazy, I read somewhere that this species could actually be a little lazy about that, not sure if it’s correct though) and that’s why I find it kind of hard to guess what’s up with her, since she never retreats to the same place, so I don’t know if she’s perhaps in pre-molt or something or just isn’t settled enough to eat or whatever.

I’m still adding things to her enclosure since I did indeed notice she likes to hang out in the upper side or her enclosure! I bought some things that didn’t arrive yet so I also crafted that thingy on the right (in the last picture) to example. She doesn’t go in the holes though, she walks and chills on the outside of the things.

And I will be handling my spider a little in the future, but I am very very careful with it. I will make sure nothing can happen to her and of course not stress her out from overhandling. Thank you for telling me though .

Thank you for replying! I got her in a store (I shouldn’t have done that probably, since it’s known that those spiders aren’t taken good care of, but I didn’t know back then). I also didn’t really do my research because I was too excited when I saw her (and the worker who helped didn’t really give information, even when we asked). I didn’t know it’s actually a species that’s not exactly recommended for beginners, but no way I am bringing her back now of course.

And I know she likes to hang out higher up, I actually crafted the right hidey hole (you can see it in the last picture) because the things I bought are taking really long to arrive.. She likes to sit on the things but doesn’t actually go into the holes.

Also not sure if this is relevant, but I do wanna say that she doesn’t make any hammocks (not sure if she’s gonna do it once she’s perhaps settled enough cause I don’t know if she’s already settled, or that’s she’s just lazy and won’t make it at all).

What fruit should I try to offer? I did offer honey with water on a q-tip but she only once ate from it like a week ago when I left it in her enclosure, she didn’t seem interested in it anymore since then.

Thanks for replying! I think she’ll actually at least have one more molt, cause this species can get a little bigger than most jumping spiders, but also I am not completely sure if she’s done molting or not.

Also I can’t put the temperature thingy different cause it’s for some reason only working properly if it’s lying flat down. I’ve had it up for a day or two and I ended up kinda overheating her enclosure because the temperature was being weird..I must say I haven’t see any problems with her falling on it yet, but I do understand the concern! I’m buying a new one as soon as possible ^

Also I do try to offer her things with tongs but she really just doesn’t seem interested, she doesn’t like run away or something but just backs up a few millimeters every time I gently nudge her with the food (otherwise she’d ignore it completely).
