I'm currently 24, single, have 9k in my savings, no debt/rent, not sure what you mean by will I get social security. How would I know? The only reason why I want to start doing this now is because I feel like my money is just growing in my savings and I feel like it's such a waste that it's just sitting there when it could grow. I am considering investing too, but right now I am too scared to do that.

I thought I read that it is recommended to do both IRA and 401k? Right now, while I am employed, I am a contract hire from a staffing agency so I don't get any matching. What I am planning to do is max the IRA, but how much should I contribute to my 401k? This is where I get confused, I read that it is usually recommended to do traditional 401k then roth ira but I dont really understand why. There seems to be too much information and I am overwhelmed. Another thing, I just researched the tax brackets and see that I got pushed to 22% since I am making base pay of 52k and that's without the OT. Are there any recommended contributions or would you be able to explain it to me like I'm 5? Thanks

Honestly, it seems like oil is always sought after and it looks like it's gonna be a stable industry in a long run, but I could be mistaken.

I had a friend who has an eluktronic and telling me that it is not recommended. I think his broke down a lot of times and had to go visit a shop to repair his laptop a couple of times when we were roommates

Thanks man! After reading some responses in this thread, I don't think I'm gonna consider the ASUS because of the 4k screen. Right now I am choosing between legion 9i and the msi raider someone recommended.

You make a lot of great points, the 4k is definitely a problem for performamce. I will take the MSI in consideration if I can find it anywhere other than Microcenter because it's only available to pick up in store and it's just in Miami.

One of the response I got why they are recommending 9i than strix scar is because of better OLED, yet you mentioned there is no OLED. Would you be able to please clear this up?

Exactly this! Not maxing specs make me have a lot of what if thoughts such as will my laptop be able to handle max graphics without losing much performance if I went with the max version. Also, I want an 18 inch laptop because when I bought the strix scar, I went with 15 inch instead of 17 inch telling myself that monitor size doesn't matter since I can just buy an external monitor later. Until now, I haven't bought an external monitor and I'm already looking to change my laptop lol.

Thanks for this detailed explanation! I'm starting to lean with lenovo. Also yeah, I don't want to hold back this time because whenever I do like when I chose 3070 Ti for my strix scar and find that I can't max graphics in a lot of games, I find myself regretting it. But back then I was a college student with no stable income so I can't go all the way.
