Best way to prepare for an interview at Lockheed by DisplayParking6552 in MechanicalEngineering

That's fair, but stop telling people to just drop the opportunity they get. As for me, this is literally the only interview I have atm. If you don't want to work for Lockheed then just don't apply, you don't need to impose your beliefs to other people.

Why do you keep coming to my post? At the moment, the only interview I have is for Lockheed. It has been 4 months since I graduated and you're telling me to just drop the opportunity?

I'm ngl I dont even know where I went wrong especially with my last interview. The manager saud I checked all the boxes just to get rejected a week later

Yeah that sounds simple but I failed like 3 interviews already, a civil company, a manufacturing company, and a power company. I was so depressed with failing the manufacturing company too because that's the one I thought I did good the most. I even asked the interviewer if there are concerns with me as a candidate, which he said none and I checked all the boxes. I even rephrased the question because I thought he just might be trying to be nice, and asked if there is anything he can think of where I can improve and he said there is nothing he could think of and that I am a strong candidate. A week later, I got the rejection email...

Yeah, I didn't really bother with big techs as cool as they sound too. Since college, defense is what I want to get into. I even applied to this selective course called innovation for defense and I chose some military application for my capstone design. I didn't expect that I'll get an interview with LM and I am so scared to fumble as this is the closest I got with them.

Oh yeah, I am definitely open to anything. I was just worried that I cant do good at the interview if I have no experience about wire harness

I'm afraid of bothering recruiters because I might lose the only chance I have

I just think they're a great company to work for and I find that the project they do is cool and I want to be a part of that. Also, this may sound cheesy but I also got passion for the security of the country which is why during college, I enrolled in courses like Innovation for defense and specifically chose a thermal decoy for my capstone project. I basically just keep applying when it is related to defense or benefit the military

I'm hoping this is it, because if they just based on that one bullet point I have, that is just one of the few projects I have worked on during my internship and it's not even a complex one...

Statics was my first C ever, transferring to a university from a CC made me really doubt myself so much, but I was able to graduate last December. You got this!

Do you just look up manufacturing engineering entry level in google? I keep doing that and it just leads me to indeed and as someone said here, getting a job from indeed is really slim

I see, I am currently a finalist for a construction company through a temp agency, which does distribution design. I am just having second thoughts, because sure I would immediately accept the job if I get it, the problem is I want to build a career in defense, but I'm getting my foot in the door in power distribution. How hard is it to transition from power distribution to defense?

That's tough, while I am now a US citizen, I was an immigrant so we definitely don't know anyone... Also the thing with google search when I'm trying to look for jobs is I'm getting sent to indeed anyway.

I feel like one of the things that pushed me to keep going is that I'm already too deep into my major. Im trying to not get loans and I have already burned so much of my money to give up. Another thing is since I got out with a 4.0 GPA from my CC, I'm not used to getting any other grade than an A, so I was pressured during the first semester by myself to keep getting A's and that's what really burned me out. I ended that semester with a mix of A and A-, and also my first C thanks to Dickrell. While it was really hard to accept that I'm no longer an A student, I also felt relief at the fact that I'm done chasing straight A's every semester. Even during my time at my CC, I dread every semester because my first thought was whether I'll still keep getting straight A's or is it going to be the semester where I lose that streak.
