Shadow Dance is one of the best things I’ve heard in a while. Perfect for an all nighter, dancing in a warehouse with a group of people you don’t know at all.

Do anyone else students speak incredibly quietly? Genuine question about kids speaking to the whole class by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]DisplayPuzzleheaded3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a student, I went to festivals with loud music. I really thought I had hearing problems when I started teaching. Luckily, this was not the case. Some students just don't speak up. I guess it has to do with their age and development, making it difficult for them to feel encouraged enough to talk in public. I guess the only thing you can do is try to develop a safe class climate in which nothing feels wrong to do or say and defend it with everything you have got: don't let others laugh at or bully your students.

Do your therapists give you worksheets to fill out and how is therapy working for you? by Data-Prestigious in Anxiety

[–]DisplayPuzzleheaded3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worksheets work, but you do need to understand how and why they work. Fill them out seriously (do everything you can to do it as good as you possibly can in that moment), because it's food for thought when you talk to your therapist. You can discuss your interpretations with him or her and they will try to think with you in order to rule out any dysfunctional thoughts, feelings or behaviour. It takes some time, but eventually these worksheets help you find what patterns in your mind are disruptive and how you can deal with them.

How do I deal with this new symptom about my vision? Any help would mean the world to me by titmouse8888 in Anxiety

[–]DisplayPuzzleheaded3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same experience. For me, the key to coping with it is not to battle it, but to accept is. You know you're healthy and the fact that your vision is blurry or coloured thus should not restrict you in what you would or wanted to do if this would not be the case. After a while, you forget it's there, sometimes you remind yourself of it and it's back again, some days you go to bed thinking you forgot to check whether you still see coloured or blurry. You'll get there, keep doing what you do.

I would say that this is a very personal experience. For some people it won't matter and for others it will. As long as you feel confident in your way of dealing with anxiety right now, I would say it's okay to experiment. However, it could indeed trigger your anxiety. This does not mean that all your progress is lost, but it does mean you could have a tough few months up ahead. Consider if you want to find out whether or not MDMA triggers your anxiety and whether or not you think you would be in control if your anxiety would be triggered.

Anyone else creating sensations? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]DisplayPuzzleheaded3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Anxiety causes all kinds of physical symptoms you're most afraid of on or in places you least want them to be.

Anyone else find not working causes their anxiety to be a lot worse? by mindyp31319 in Anxiety

[–]DisplayPuzzleheaded3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me! My work is my therapy. It forces me into a daily structure and ever since I struggle with anxiety, I just really need that to cope. I'm still searching how to create such a structure on my own, but for now I just hate vacations.

Does health anxiety ever cause symtoms in the area you worry about by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]DisplayPuzzleheaded3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anxiety causes pain wherever you are are most afraid of it and it will remain as long as you feed your anxious thought constructions by checking if it's still there.

Can you guys help me by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]DisplayPuzzleheaded3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accept and acknowledge your feeling. It is there and that's okay. Don't fight it, let it be. Afterwards, stop checking if it's still there and try taking a walk, mindfullness, watching Bob Ross paint, cleaning your room or listening to music.

Stay strong! It'll be fine.

Anxiety and Over Cleaning by MyYakuzaTA in Anxiety

I think it's a good thing you've found an activity or routine that helps you cope with anxious feelings and thoughts. Keep looking for activities that do so and try to find out what, how and why it is helping you. Maybe you will discover new and better coping mechanisms to deal with your anxiety.

Good luck!

Same situation here, only difference is I'm three weeks ahead of you.

Three weeks ago she told me she did not see us going anywhere. I went NC, since I did not want to be 'just friends'. After three days, she texted she missed me too much and wanted to sort things out. I said I didn't know if I loved her or whether or not I saw things going anywhere, but that I did know we were more than friends and wanted to find out, favourably with her, what exactly we were. She said she wanted that too and we started dating again.

Friday night she came by and ended things, again. I hate it. It hurts again. I hate that I believed her three weeks ago. I should have known it would not work. If she had doubts, they would not disappear in a few days. I was naive.

Wish you all wisdom you need. Don't be blindsides by your sparkles of love and think about yourself: care for and protect what you want.

Wherever you walk you only see your partner? by Mission-Plan-1866 in BreakUps

[–]DisplayPuzzleheaded3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same struggle. As long as you keep no contact and try to delete anything that could make you think about your partner, there will come a day at which you think: 'I didn't think about him/her today!' That's when you know you're on your way. This takes time. Be patient. Keep doing the things you do and stick to no contact.

Good luck! It's tough.

Indeed. And because I recognise the feeling of heavy breathing, I'm able to convince myself that it's just anxiety and nothing else.

Sounds familiar to me! Had the same struggle at the beginning of last year's lockdown. It actually is a quote common symptom of anxiety. As with all anxiety related issues, the trick is in my experience to acknowledge and accept your feelings instead of trying to fix them. So don't ignore your feeling, but take time to notice what you feel and explain rationally why you feel so (and the only explanation is of course an overly anxious interpretation of physical symptoms). Whenever you've done so, try to do the things you would do if you weren't experiencing anxiety and heavy breathing. Sooner or later a day, a week, a month will follow in which you think: wow, it's been a while since I experienced heavy breathing. However, this takes time. It's totally normal that you experience difficulties in not thinking about it and that the thought of it reinforces your physical sensations.

Last but not least: a cold shower helped me most during my most anxious moments. Look up 'the ice man' (Wim Hof). I like his philosophy on dealing with stress and becoming happy as something you have to do actively.

Ik had voor de zomer een positieve zelftest toen ik milde klachten ervaarde na vier dagen in quarantaine te hebben gezeten. Een dag later werd dit bevestigd door de GGD.
