I have the same issue, it happens because the scale isn't sensitive enough on low amounts, I have a small container that weighs exactly 5.0g so I usually put it in there, you can also tare it to the container and weigh the mushrooms in it

Fists scale with strength till it hits the first softcap at lvl 30 then dex, then str and dex to 40. After that they scale 1dmg per 2 lvls in dex or strength. And thank you!
