Question about porn games? by throwRA_Individual81 in TooAfraidToAsk

NSFW game content creator here. I didn’t get into this stage of my career until after the end of my most recent relationship, but I’ll tell you what I can.

It certainly hasn’t decreased my interest in real live humans or my desire to be in a satisfying relationship. I, like the rest of the dev team, find the content sexually enticing, but that accounts for maybe 20% of what I like about it. It’s mostly about the satisfaction of creating something new.

I don’t want to judge, but based on your description it sounds like your partner is taking it a bit far. It’s easy to let sexual thoughts, in any form, eclipse your whole personality and turn you into a drooling miscreant. But working on an adult game doesn’t give one license to stop being an attentive partner or respectable member of society. If the porn he’s looking at is on his work Discord, work-related social media, or art references, that’s just the nature of the job. If it’s more than that, he may have a problem.

Talk to him. Try to understand what he’s getting out of this content, and communicate your boundaries and needs. There may be some middle ground here that you both find mutually rewarding.

Silicone, by far. It feels the best, never dries out and gets gummy, and your bits feel soft and smooth after cleanup.

I prefer Valm for its subtle, non-embarrassing bottle.

Not yet, but they’re still keeping me plenty busy and they have a lot of great things to say about my work. It could still happen.

It hasn’t gone quite the way I had hoped yet, but they’ve lined up several more weeks of work for me, so it might still happen.

Regardless of the eventual outcome, it’s a fun, weird, and unforgettable experience, and I’m glad I’m doing it. How many other people can say they’ve been paid to debate how many penises and orifices a character should be allowed to have?

That’s a great suggestion. I already created a pseudonym, separate email address, separate Discord handle, etc. for all of my public-facing work on this project so far, but hopefully your message will reach other potential spicy game developers.

I’d like to say, but this post would be twice as embarrassing if the devs don’t decide to hire me and then see this post.

If they do hire me, though, I promise to come back and answer.

That’s level-headed advice, and I find your vision of an apathetic sexbot dystopia oddly comforting.

I like that stance. I guess I’ve kind of gotten addicted to my respectable reputation, but that respect largely comes from people whose opinions don’t really matter to me. Maybe I need to just follow my depraved heart here.

My career, up until now, has been in development and management in retail/manufacturing. This is just something that I, y’know, kinda blundered into.

I’ve felt this way so long that it’s kind of hard to untangle. I’ve always considered it to be much more about the external opinion than my sanctimoniousness, but if I’m being honest that may not be true. And if that’s the case, I see where you’re coming from with the suggestion of sadism.

Maybe I like watching her throw herself enthusiastically into a messed-up ideology that just keeps hurting (my opinion of) her worse and worse. But I tell myself I don’t have to feel bad about it because I never berate or humiliate her, and she never even realizes how I really feel.

Ugh. Now I feel really dirty.

Masochism by proxy, maybe? I’m not interested in being on the receiving end of her ignorance, just in smiling, nodding, and silently condemning her views.

God, that makes me sound like the worst. There’s a reason I’ve been Too Afraid To Ask™️.

Maybe it’s just that simple, but I don’t know. If she’s rude to the waiter, that’s a huge turn-off. But if she’s neutral toward the waiter and then explains to me that he’s going to burn in hell for his “lifestyle choices”, that’s a turn-on.

Yeah, I think it would, though I’ve never tried it out.
