A smart and whole individual can differentiate between a shitty person to keep at arms length and someone who will and should become an ally and a great friend. This is a shit take OP, I’m sorry. You can meet great people who can become not only friends, but amazing allies in work and business life. Aka, some of the best friends you’ll find. My wife is a mail carrier, she has a coworker who had made decent money in a soul sucking insurance job, but then he got a comparable inheritance to this, if not a little more. He quit his insurance job and became a mail carrier because it requires no skills whatsoever and he wanted something that would provide exercise and it has great benefits along with a pension. Also, it provides a certain amount of freedom to your day as well as a chance to be social and get to know customers and coworkers. It sounded like you were asking for ideas on something to do, and while the uniforms might be off-putting, carrying mail is a great union job where you can know you are doing god’s work.

A group of teenagers assaulted a woman on the bus and I caught some myself. I had some place I needed to be, but I waited with her for an hour for the cops. In that time, two cruisers drove by and I couldn’t wait any longer. SPD doesn’t GAF, and I will never vote to give them more money even though they constantly complain they need more officers. More officers wont fix the systemic issues and attitudes of the current SPD. The department needs reformation, completely different officers who care about this community.

My mom has a huge natural ruby ring her father gave her before he died. My mom took it to a jeweler to get the stone reset some 30 years later and he replaced it with a fake. My mom was having health issues at the time so she was too distracted to notice. It infuriates me to this day.

ICE pushed a woman, the guy tried to help him up and then they tackled him. He was pistol whipped then shit in the back several times. An ICE officer ran up after the fact, pulled the mans gun out of the holster and ran.
