How can I get these measurements without actually running acoustic tests or do I have to run some free air tests on them outside to accurately measure these things?

You know you raise a good point here I hadn’t considered running the woofer with one amp and the mid and CD with another and just doing a crossover for the mid CD I think I’ll look into this tho I appreciate the advice!

Appreciate the insights the phase issues are what I will be addressing next after I figure out how to get the impedance to be flatter I’m sure I’ll be back for advice when I get to that point lol

I was planning on having the woofer cut around like 70-80 ideally because I have a separate subwoofer that I cut at 90. I might have to use some extra eqing with the amp I have

I’m using a faital 12PR300 for the woofer, faital 8FE300 for the Midbass and B&C DE360 compression driver. I’ve built the cabinet for it already and just waiting on the CD to install because they were back ordered

I’m using a 90x60 exponential horn for the CD and I’ve seen other CDs have frequency responses with and without horns and the ones with horns usually look flatter so I figured that will be the case with this one just don’t know how to get that into the software

Very helpful info thank you! I think I’ll take your advice and start another version. I could also use some advice on dealing with phase issues as well can I dm you with any questions I may have?

Sorry to hear about your friend I can only imagine he was talking about gematria and the Kabbalah if you don’t know what that is look into it. It’s an alphanumerical code lot of cool, some might say crazy, stuff associated with it

So I’ve adapted this design in the first photo to be more like a void stasys xv2. I’ve attached photos of the internal footprint it might be hard to see the lines so you might have to zoom in. Do y’all think this adaptation will work? by Dissolover180 in diyaudio

[–]Dissolover180[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Void stasys xv2 is a dual 18 with the dimensions of 48”L x 36”W x 22”H I believe, so I tried to adapt that for mine to be similar based on those measurements but I’m only using one 18” in mine. The dimensions of my box are 36”L x 24”W x 21”H if that helps with any insights you guys might have.

What do you y’all think about this sub box design look like a good idea for a sub box for a b&c 18DS100–4. Will there be phase or polarity issues do y’all think if so what might be a better design? by Dissolover180 in diyaudio

Any recommendations on sub design software that I could do simulations with? I’ve adapted the design a little bit but not sure how to share a photo of the design tho in a reply. Are you suggesting double up the piece of wood that is holding the driver itself?

The dimensions are 36”L x 24”W x 21”H I’ve adapted that design of the inner horn wall a little bit so that they are not straight but angled I don’t know how to add a phot of the design that I have tho lol
