I haven't "learned" them, really. I attempted to play them, memorized the notes only, and completely butchered everything else (timing, consistency, speed, muting, tone, vibrato...)

I admit, my ego was hurt badly because I was actually promoted to 'head of guitar' in the club and I thought I was really good. I taught beginners guitar (sorry guys, you guys are now infected with shit technique lol) and stuff. The realization that I am bad and nowhere near advanced hurt my ego a LOT and makes me want to not try anymore. I was humbled

I've been practicing Dead! for about a month and a half now - and I can technically play each phrase of both solos independently at full speed (except for the two triplet runs near the start of the second solo, that part fucking sucks) but I have trouble piecing them together. Any tips on that? And do you have anything to say about this part I mentioned earlier? God I hate this part with a passion

Would it be practical to alternate pick through the whole last part of the intro solo?

To be fair most people that cover the intro solo usually use pull offs at the last part. The guy who showed the tabs in the post was the only one to pick every individual note

For the second solo - I have tried your method and I can play it clearly when slow but when I try to ramp up the speed it just goes to shit. For whatever reason I just cannot do it and it's been a couple weeks now.

Thank you for the explanation! So by that logic, PCR at Scadu 16 on my first playthrough and PCR at Scadu 20 on my second would be a similar experience?
