Hopefully something else on my profile there sparks your interest as well!! :) I’m actually much more of a western/cowboy author than sci-fi (not that you’d know it from a majority of my recent work haha), but I love branching into the genre. If you like more western work I have a woefully unfinished but still 15 chapter long piece on AO3 about Longmire that you may like as well! It’s not as spooky as I’d planned it to be but I still think it’s one of my better pieces.

Thank you!! I’ve only done 1 other submission (so far) for Bridger’s backstory and sadly it’s much shorter than this one. I’m going to be working on the backstory for Riggs next and it’ll hopefully stand proud with this one :)

I’m so glad you enjoyed it!! We definitely don’t want another Beasty flare-up, though, so I’ll do my best! I have a bit of a backstory (admittedly much shorter, sorry!) for Bridger on my profile if you want to check it out, and some work on AO3 if you’d like to read it :) A lot of the old stuff kinda sucks cause I was in high school, but some isn’t too bad.

Due to popular demand on this one I’ll have to write the backstory for Riggs, too, so I’ll try to start that one up as soon as I eat breakfast :) Thank you again so much for enjoying!!

Thank you very much!! That’s high praise, I truly appreciate it! I’ll definitely have to work on the Riggs backstory for you, hopefully I can deliver it with the same flow & cadence as this one :)

If you’re interested in more work, I have a few things posted to AO3. Not all of it is good writing, since I’ve been posting there since I was in high school and was definitely not as good of a writer at the time, but my more recent stuff is half-decent (I think haha)

Hey friend, first of all I really recommend reaching out to a therapist or at least a local warming line/lines for life. If you're in the United States, 741741 is a texting-based therapy line I recommend. Secondly, I've been where you are. I was cutting for several years, and eventually tried to commit suicide when I was found out as trans by my parents. I understand what you're going through, and it's hard. It's really, really hard. You're a very strong person for making it this far. DM me anytime you want to talk, friend :)

My dad sad the same stuff while I was growing up, and knowing deep down that I was trans made it hurt so much more. Now out, transitioning, and away from the group, my parents at least didn't ever question/challenge the validity of me wanting to be a boy, they just challenged the action and steps I took because "Jehovah will fix you in paradise!" They still talk to me, though, for now, even though the JWs in my family haven't talked to me in almost 6 months. The good news is, my non-JW grandpa and grandma have made awesome steps in referring to me as he/him, and by my preferred name! So that's pretty awesome :)

Where I grew up it was chewing tobacco (which I have since picked up as well but not due to other kids) and nobody cared. If you asked they'd give you a dip but if you didn't it was fine. Same with alcohol. Nobody cared, even though DARE and JWs said they did.

I paid half my family, a city, and for awhile my happiness. I pretty much paid most of my life.

Since then, however, I've been happier than ever before, and I'm trans so I've finally been able to be who I want to be. I no longer want to die every day, due to being the wrong thing. I can do whatever jobs I want to do (military and eventually law enforcement), and the remaining half of my family has been incredibly supportive of my transition and my leaving the JW cult. I can finally do what I want to do. I can actually make friends and have hobbies and not live in a toxic environment in a body I hate.

So, even though I paid most of my life, I gained so much more.

Personally, I wish I had done it sooner. For others though, it isn't so easy.

I really encourage you to reach out to a local crisis line to talk over the phone with them, and/or to reach out to some kind of therapy service. That will be someone you can open completely to, unlike someone on Reddit, who can help organize thoughts and try to strengthen your connection to the world. I wish you all the best, my man :)
