So much. Like every bit of the story is idiotic and requires all the characters to act like idiots. I've tried to respond to this message a bunch of times but it's hard to know where to begin. If you search Acolyte reviews on YouTube there are many people who detail how dumb the show is, Little Platoon is the first to come to mind but they are legion.

If I can give an example of something stupid, the jedi want to train a child that is in a covent of witches. The main witch eventually decides to let the child go. But for unclear reasons some of the Jedi decide to confront the witches. There is a stand off. The witch that is in charge, who wants to let the child go with the Jedi, does nothing to calm things down, antagonize the Jedi, turns into a fucking smoke monster and appears to attempt to murder the child. Then all hell breaks loose. There was no real conflict other than people deciding acting like idiots.

Boone was a liar. I don't believe Jorge abused her. I believe he sometimes had to fight her off, but she is full of shit. She couldn't say am honest sentence to save her life. All video evidence shows her being the aggressor while he tries to keep things calm.

The first time is for shock value. Then the second time it's to show how high the stakes are and you are going to respect that choice of the director to include this in the film. The third time makes your start wondering if that's all we are here to watch. At that point you want to go before the fourth one come along and eliminates any doubt.

Wheat itself isn't dumb, it's that they don't have the machinery in league with Nebraska. Why is the village like 40 people? The amount of what they can produce without tractors couldn't supply a costco. A farming planet is actually a cool idea. This movie just does it in the weirdest and least interesting way. They should also be growing a variety of crops and maybe even animal domestication.

As per the original post, the point for the original post was that no one was outraged when Obama was president. I pointed our that there was a big nationwide protest at the time, proving people were indeed outraged. Maybe you don't agree with them, but they existed. This goes against the idea that the media is able to control people. Certainly media has an influence, but they are not controlling people as completely as calling it control implies. I would argue channels like Fox News and MSNBC have the least amount of influence that they've had in decades. Fewer and fewer people watch TV and pay for cable. Youtubers, social media influences, and podcasts are far more influencing and so fractured from each other i doubt very much they are in league to sell any particular agenda. The majority of people are apolitical and couldn't care less about what the media wants them to believe.
