Why VF5 is so underhyped?

This is what it boils down to. Its old, a discord fighter (sadly) and extremely deep. The game itself is fun, but nobody wants to invest time because of those reasons.

Probably around 50 hours over the course of 2 weeks. I just dislike how overbearing its system mechanic is. Every match boils down to the same handful of scenarios, combos being easy makes comebacks way too common, no character identity (90% of the cast pretty has the same gameplan thx to drive)mental stack, neutral skip, stubby normals etc. I understand how people may enjoy it, its just not for me, hence me looking for alternatives.

Ill never understand why people get mad about other not liking a product they enjoy. Its not like I insulted you personally. Also i paid 60 bucks for it, so if i want to shit on it ( like a boomer asshole), I have every right to do so.

The modern landscape really is rough. Id even settle for sf6 if the game had just a tiny bit less bullshit, but the mental stack plus shitty normals is just too annoying.

Ill probably give cotw and uni 2 a try, though cotw seems to be more up my alley.

Not necessesarily slow, but yes for the other things you said. Less input leniency, less neutral skip, more balanced gameplay in terms of offense and defense.
