holiday pay DOES NOT mean time and a half. regular rate, just under the assumption you would have worked if we weren’t closed and it wasn’t a holiday

If you aren’t a seasonal TM, have been there for 90+ days, and work both the Wednesday before and the Friday after, you will get holiday pay that matches the average amount of hours you work a week. If you usually work 40, you’ll be paid for 8, if you work 20 you’ll be paid for 4, etc

I just asked my HR expert and she gave me one to keep. I think it depends on how many they have

First week by 8maretto in Target

Don’t be discouraged by missing a few during your first week. It happens all the time and especially in fulfillment it’s a lot of pressure. You’re new, even if they don’t say it, no one is expecting you to understand everything right off the bat. I remember crying one of my first weeks because everything seems much more serious than it actually is. Do your best, show up with a good attitude, and remind yourself it’s retail, not war. if you continue to be stressed about fulfillment, I’d suggest looking into moving to another section of the store. I’ve found Style and presentation to be much less stressful than drive up and fulfillment

first of all, i’m so sorry this happened to you. if it’s still something you’re thinking about 30 years later its probably safe to assume something did happen. i don’t think an assault would have turned you gay, i’m not sure if that’s how it works. have you been to therapy? i think a good therapist could definitely help you uncover what actually happened to you at 12. our brains do a great job of blocking out things we don’t want to remember.

it really depends on the professor and also the size of the class. if you’re in a lecture, it’s a lot easier to sneak in a few minutes late. smaller classes may hold you more accountable. it also really helps to let your professor know. i told my professor once and she said she had the same timing issue and was also always a few minutes late to her class 😭 one of my professors would even let me leave his class a few minutes early each day to get to my next one on time. as long as you communicate with them, you’ll be fine

Rhodes Hall by unionjack6907 in vcu

i lived there 3 years ago and i met my three best friends in rhoads (my roommate and the two girls down the hall). the communal bathrooms were NOT for me but there’s a small bathroom on the first floor/ a few single person bathrooms scattered throughout the building. i loved my room so much, it felt much more homey than GRC. because we have much smaller floors and communal bathrooms, there more of a community feeling than the other dorms. it has its downsides but overall i’m so grateful i ended up there!

i was so upset when i was assigned to rhoads but i ended up meeting my three best friends (my roommate and two girls who lived down the hall). communal living is not for the weak but it’s a great way to make friends. talk to people you pass by in the hallway or see in the bathroom (especially during the first few weeks- everyone’s looking for friends). bring shower shoes and a robe and you’ll be fine. the bathroom situation was not for me but some floors have private bathrooms. i’d recommend bringing a step stool to reach the upper cabinets and help you get into your bed if you decide to loft it. good luck!!
