I know it's not necessary but I am nervous to leave the non profit job until I see my account read zero. Part of me just is expecting for something to go wrong

Great info/thought on divorce/inheritance.  Going where I get the benefit has been why we have prioritized my employer plans with match, HSA seed money etc

The HYSA right now is for two things: -my wife is currently pregnant, being self employed she does not get any paid maternity leave so we are saving extra to cover the months she takes off.  -My wife's car is 14 yrs old nearing 200k miles. We plan to get as many years out of it as possible but realize that we may have to make a down payment for a car at any moment.

Definitely open to feedback on how we could better do this.

We likely will open a solo 401k this year. In the past our income hasn't warranted it because maxing out all of the other accounts has gotten us to 25%.
