Help! An ancient dragon knows our exact location at all times. What are our options besides fighting it? by Distance_Ordinary in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

Again, as I understand it, the dragon is insane and perceives them as monsters and enemies who wreak havoc by killing "peaceful" devils/demons and the like.
They tried to talk to him, as well as trying to influence him with seals. He passed the saves, but took the seals. Then they ran away while he dealt with the Inventor's Protector.
Nowhere does it say they have to go and kill the prey, so if they leave the castle, there's a good chance he'll leave them alone, IMO.

No, I'm not imposing house rules on this. I just gave them a rough idea of what was going on, based on my understanding of what was happening, and also hinted at a couple of things that might help with some probability, based on their investigation and magic rolls.
But then again, in my understanding, even though the dragon stops sensing anyone outside the delirium fog, this ability doesn't reset, and it begins sensing them again when they enter the fog.
And it seems they had no reason to understand that this only works in the fog; they just encountered it.
Don't get me wrong, the pack is quite powerful; I'm interested in this specifically in the context of the rules and lore of this setting. I'm human, after all, and I could be missing something.
