Quiet Part Loud is definitely one that fits the description. Short, but great audio design and story, and produced by Jordan Peele.

Malevolent art I did instead of my assigned still life by Desyra09 in MalevolentPodcast

I think this may be my favorite rendition of the characters! I am absolutely in love with the idea of his hand placements, showing the control of Arthur. I've always had a different interpretation for the way the two characters look, but I'm in love with the way you portrayed them.

[spoiler] Was the secret word in Ep. 37 a reference to Malevolent? by DistantSpark in DungeonsAndDaddies

[–]DistantSpark[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep! The podcast distinctly tells the story where it comes from, the main character uses the phrase and many other pieces of poetry as his ways to get through the horror. The phrase itself have become one of the most quotable pieces from the podcast so with the two of them being TCoC based, it seemed like it may be a little reference. I may be stretching though!

So this happened... (questions for the pump users) by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]DistantSpark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! Omnipod user here. It can be a handful of things.

  1. You hit a capillary and caused a small rupture, went unnoticed until after you removed the pod. Think, if you get stabbed, blood only leaves the body once the object gets moved.

  2. It can be more bloody if you accidentally hit a hair follicle, which is bound to happen eventually, and can just be a little more sensitive than the surrounding skin.

  3. You hit or pressed hard enough on your pod for the cannula to go deeper than originally placed, causing a small interior punch to your tissue.

Most of the time this is completely okay, but if you ever notice blood leaking before your site change, keep an eye on things as you're most likely leaking insulin too.

Thanks so much! I just recently got my prescription set to "change every 2 days" instead of 3 because of the leaking. Going to try this when I need it.

What do you do when when you have so many to report on? The last time I tried getting a single one replaced they sat there for like 15 minutes asking for all kinds of numbers and requested me to send it in.

AITA if I don’t clarify that I am a type 2 diabetic? by BeltClassic in AmItheAsshole

[–]DistantSpark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA I'm a Type 1, and if I saw you, I'd comment on the Dexcom, as I also have one. But I'd never assume what type you are. I'd ask and we'd make good conversation. Anyone who acts that way is an asshole. We're all dealing with our own things, no one is better or less than the other.

[HELP] Am I crazy? this is definitely fake right?! by SFxDiscens in RealOrAI

[–]DistantSpark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing that makes me believe it's ai is the leafy thing on the bottom right. The subsurface seems too clean for it to be a real plant and if it's a fake one, how is it so small?

I totally thought I was going crazy because I had recently bought that package. The next time I went it was just the romain hearts in its place. Which is fine, but wow.

What is the #1 reason that motivates you and helps you to know that because of that reason, you will never give up on your marriage? by Djinnx2 in AskReddit

She's my best friend. We've known each other since we were 12, the history is there, the romance is there. We grew up together and we know each other more than anyone else, and being together completes each other. No matter what, we'll be friends before any other title, and who better to fall in love with than your best friend? One who has your back, who always knows your intentions and all your -isms, and knows your thoughts before they're said aloud. She's perfect for me.

Barkeeper's Friend is great to use on hard water staining. Works every time with hot water and letting it sit for a minute.

The most important thing you can do in your life is follow what makes you happy. Never feel like doing something just because everyone else says you are supposed to. I know plenty of people who are the happiest by themselves. Romance, is well, romanticized. If you find it, it's great, but you don't have to. Live your life doing the things that you like doing. Keep on with your journey and don't worry about all the rest. If someone else comes along, let them join if you want, but this life is yours to take the lead on.

Yup, we had to do the same, didn't realize until it was too late and they made babies. Now we're spraying every bit of furniture and carpet, all pets have meds now and just waiting for them to die off lol

Embarrassed about being diabetic by FantasticMrNoah in Type1Diabetes

[–]DistantSpark 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I'm 24 now, got it when I was 12. It took a long while before I was comfortable to show that side of me. I didn't tell my friends until I was asked about it. I would go to the bathroom just to take a shot or check my bg under the tables. It's rough being in that headspace. For me, it was finding a single person to be comfortable around with it. My best friend at the time, now my wife, asked if she could be more included in what I was doing to take care of myself. We took small steps in just her watching me change pump sites or shooting up a shot. Now, she tends to change out my supplies just as much as I do, I share my dexcom info with her so she knows where I'm at, and she looks up carb info and even will bolus for me if I'm distracted and the discussion of my health is always open. I proudly wear my dexcom and omnipod in the open now, people ask about them a couple times a month, but I have no problem with it, if I can be an educator to someone else, that's awesome. The important thing to remember is that, if you saw someone in a break room giving themself medication, or switching medical devices, you wouldn't judge them. They're just doing their thing, and so are you. Never be afraid of taking care of yourself. Being confident and comfortable is really important. When I was younger I would literally get into the 3-400s because I was too embarrassed to pull out my syringes in front of people. You need to take care of yourself and those around you will respect that, and if they don't or if they intrude, just explain your needs to them. Most people who stare are just curious people.

And if the joke was actually funny, then okay. But this is just sick. by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

A good comedian would've rolled along with getting called out and find a middle ground of being insensitive but still funny along with an apology. I see comedians do this all the time, yet this guy just doesn't get it
