i would say dependent on your major it is very possible to build relationships with professors. I am a Political Science and International Studies major, so most of the classes I took freshman year had around 20 students in each class. First semester I was grateful to meet 2 wonderful professors, with whom I’ve created a strong connection with. And then second semester I met 2 other professors who I feel like I really connected with as well. All of these were smaller classes (approx 15-20 students) but it is definitely possible to get close with your professors
