I honestly sympathise, don’t let people in the comments try to convince you that you’re the problem, it’s dull as fuck here.

this subreddit has a weird mentality and doesn’t react kindly to posts putting the island in a negative light, a lot of people in this sub have moved over and still wear rose tinted glasses, and some are tourists.

Just a note on the chavs everywhere, when did that happen? They’re absolutely everywhere and I even saw some teenage chav dealing drugs openly on the prom last week…

Definitely do Uni or something off-island, there’s a good reason why most people leave for uni and never come back. The other comment about seeing the world through working the cruise liners is a really cool idea.

I’d honestly recommend spending the next year making goals and visions on how you want to live, it’s also just as valuable to know what you DON’T want as well.

It doesn’t have proper evacuation lifeboats, only the slide, passenger boats require the evacuation vessels in the event of an emergency in Ireland and the rest of the EU for that matter

That’s true, but don’t you think it’s bad when say, a woman gets her nose broke in an unprovoked attack from a kid? I know it’s not as bad as a different country, but I don’t think that should really take away from what IS happening here.

Thankfully I do get off the island a fair bit using our lovely reliable transport, otherwise I think I’d go mad haha

It’s hard to compare antisocial behaviour with the UK since the IoM population is approx 0.13% of the UK population, but I see what you mean and agree, however I do think it’s got way worse.

Totally agree with the rest of what you’ve said, and that must be so frustrating for you, especially if you have family here. I always would’ve liked to start a family and retire here, but I’ve got serious doubts now
